bose cd changer
bose cd changer
Hey guys, looking to replace my bose 6 disc cd changer with a used one off ebay because mine hasn't been working for a very long time. My question is, will I need to enter some sort of anti theft code once I replace it? The problem is I don't have the owner's manual so I would have to take it to the stealership. I tried the search button but couldn't find a definitive answer. Thanks in advance
My 2004 with the Bose 6 disc changer (build date on CD unit is December 2003) had the infamous sound cutting out on speakers driver's side only when playing CDs. I replaced it with a unit from an auto wreckers ($30..yes!!!) with a build date of February 2005. If you're getting on off eBay, check the build date - the later the better.
I didn't need any anti theft code. It was a straight swap.
Just curious - what's wrong with your current unit?

On mine the cds would get stuck. Now it's just stuck on eject. It's been like that for a couple years now.. Been using the cassette adapter to listen to my music. That was a good deal u got. The wrecking yards around me wanted like 120. I found some on ebay for 70 or 80 I'll make sure to check the built date thanks for your response
The auto wrecker was a 'pull your own' so maybe that's why it was so cheap. Before you spend money on an eBay unit, did you pull the unit out and have a look at the CD changer? Could be something simple. It's fairly easy to remove and just pull the top off the CD player to see the guts.
Oh i see. I tried a couple of those around my area but the cd players were already taken on all the maximas. But that's a good idea I'll pop it open tonight and hopefully save myself some money
