My car timing chain rattles (sounds like marbles smaking each ither continuously) it oly makes this noise for 15 minutes while engine cold. Once is warm and been on the road for a while it goes away. I been asking the dealer and different shops what can it be and i get different answers . 1. The oil pumps pressure is off therefore the oil does not travel throughout the engine fast enough. Or 2. The timing chain needs to be replaced. I know this type of repair will cost me between $1,500-$2,000. Im saving money for that repair but im just thinking how long will it last until is really bad that it breaks. How much time do I have?

Mine does the same thing then it get quiet like the wind .. Been doing it since I bought it used 2 years ago and I am up to 320000 kilometers from 220000 when I purchased it. Still runs like a leopard.. I wouldn't even bother spending on that. Live with it until you change your car or when it dies on you. Save your money for a newer maxima
