06 water pump replacement cost
You have to remove the timing chain cover to replace the water pump. Be sure and replace the timing chain guides and camshaft tensioner shoes when they have the cover removed. They should also check the chains when they have everything open. Labor is probably around 10 hours and water pump is expensive. I do not remember the cost but when I replaced my son's timing chains, tensioners, guides, etc it was the most expensive part. $1,300 is not a bad price. I would have assumed more. Again, it you have it replaced be sure and replace the main timing chain guides and the camshaft shoes. Cost is minor compared to labor cost.
Goto a dependable Indy shop and ask them. Wingnut have the right idea of changing everything else too while they are in there. you can do it yourself but it will either take dropping the motor or removing the passenger side mounts and lifting that part of the engine up to access everything. It will mostly be a space issue trying to get everything. Good luck.
066spd: To get an idea of what needs to be removed to replace the water pump look at the video by 2012nugget. Space is very tight. In fact, Nissan recommends removing the engine from the vehicle to remove the timing chain cover.
