trans fluid

Hi I am new here . I own a 2006 maxima and plan to flush the transmission. The dealer sales it 23 dollars a guart. I need 10 quarts so over $230 dollors. Should I go with the dealer fluid or is there a better fluid I can use.

2006 has the 5 speed auto and uses Nissan type "K" fluid. Normally, $10 to $12 quart. Transmission has hear sink cooler in lieu of normally radiator cooler and I do not believe that it can be flushed. Transmission is mfg by a division of Toyota (Asian-Warner). You can use Nissan type 'K", Toyota type IV, Asian type IV or Mobil 3309. All meet Asian-Warner spec ASA-3309.

I should be able to take off the transmission cooling line leaving the transmission and replace with a drain hose so I can use the transmission oil pump to pump out the old oil while I refill with the new oil. Thanks for the info I will check into the mobile one transmission fluid.

Transmission does not have cooling lines, it has a heat sink, that is the reason it can not be flushed.

Dealer told me my transmission could be flushed for $350+.
Their price on a simple drain and fill was like $180ish.

OK I just got from under the the car before the rain started. I found the lines but the do not run to the radiator . They hook from the top of the transmission to the bottom. So after the rain is will pull them apart to see which one the pump pumps the oil through and try to flush in not the right lines I will just drain and top off . So thanks for the info.

Thanks wing nut! ! I finished with with the transmission fluid and as you wing nut it does not run cooling lines to the radiator. The 2 lines on the side had coolant fluid in them. So thanks for the heads up wingnut. So I just drained the transmission fluid from the plug and topped back off after I changed the oil. I will drain again and top off during my next oil change.
