Im looking to upgrade from a 4th gen to a 6th gen and just wanted to know a few questions.

Am Patiently waiting for a manual 6g with rear captain seats to pop up but will probably just go with any properly maintained max I can find. I see that there are transmission problems on the 04-06 automatic models. How are the trannnys in the 07-08's? I may get an automatic so that my baby's mama can drive it if needed, but I'm still debating as I just don't feel like going back to a boring automatic. Are there any problems with the manual trannys of any particular year?

Idealy what do you think is the best year 6'er? for instance I personally believe the 97 is the best year of 4th because there is no immobilizer, no added emissions crap, and better exterior styling.

any help is appreciated, I'm looking at a variety of different makes and models but would like to try to stay in the maxima game.
