Self programming of key fob?

Has anyone ordered a key fob off the internet such as Ebay or Amazon like this one and programmed it themselves? What does it entail? Is it easy? Does it work?
Thanks

Given how low cost they are, it is amazing that they do work. I bought a similar one for my 2003 Infiniti I35 a couple of years ago, and it still works.

If you want to add a bit of pizzazz, you might want to consider this newer style. It replicates the look of the newer style of remote (the open close markings will not rub off like the older style) but it is designed to replace the older rubber button style of remote.

I just got 2 of these, and they work wonderfully.

I've purchased on of the replicas without the Nissan emblem. The bank way Key1ne or something like that. I can't fine the brand online anymore. Had the key cut and programmed by Nissan dealer for like $100. It worked great for a year then stopped working. After I changed the battery. I may have damaged the coiled antenna inside it.

I don't know if you can program the fob without using a consult tool. I would love to know because of been using a physical key for months like some kind of commoner.
