04 w/ shifting issue after trans valve body replacement

So I picked up a rebuilt valve body from AutoZone the other day (sonnex branded rebuild) and the swap went pretty smoothly however it was shifting a little rough from first to second. I figured maybe a bad rebuild and had them swap the valve body out but now it's flaring into third gear before catching gear. Anyone have this issue after swapping a VB? I've been reading the TCM has to be reprogrammed .... Anyone have any feedback in regards to this?

No, the TCM does not need programming (initialization) when there's vb replacement. This applies to CVT models only, and yours is not.

Pretty sure my vehicle is a CVT model ... I ended up swapping the original reman VB back in but it's still shifting rough into second. Considering going back for the core and rebuilding with level10 ... Anyone have any thoughts on that?
