P0507 code and 2500 RPM startup

Car has 148,xxx miles, purchased it about a week ago drove for a little and then I get a P0507 code. Used a read and it stated “higher rev then normal when idle”

didnt touch the throttle body so the relearn was useless. Just curious if anyone else had this issue and what was the root of the problem.

i will say when starting up the engine jumps to 2500 rpm, also when in park the rpms do shoot up then stabilize randomly.

on a side note when I went to autozone to have it read the employee asked me what type of fuel I’ve used, I told him premium and he said I should use regular..... thought that was funny.

I had the same code it popped up on me after I reset my ecu from disconnecting the battery.

1. I fixed it by first clearing any ecu codes threw the Nissan ecu reset procedure,

2. Then I followed this guide followed all the steps but I Did Not actually clean my electronic throttle body just did the other procedures.

Thanks for the response, I brought it in to a mechanic and he told me the code is reading for a faulty throttle body. They preformed the relearn and told me if it doesn't come back in three days I should be fine, if it does then the throttle body needs to be replaced and he quoted me at $550- $700 for the job. If the code returns I will just install a new throttle body myself since that price is ridiculous.

just curious at what RPM do your maximas Start up at, my maxima hits 2,500 then takes a bit before it hits 1000. thanks for the responses.

its in the 1000-1200rpm range when its warmed up at start and like maybe close to 2000rpm on a cold start, after i did the procedures i mentioned above I idle at half way to the 1000 rpm mark, before I idled at 1000rpm

The throttle body is not that hard to replace theres videos on youtube on how to do it. That price is too much. Also you might want to do the procedures I mentioned my code has not come back its been a week already
