Help Power Issue When First Placed in Gear

Hello,

I own a very well maintained 2006 Maxima with 190,700 miles. I change the oil and filter every 3,500 miles with synthetic oil. I also do a drain and fill every 10,000 miles for the automatic transmission fluid. I have owned the car since it had 17,000 miles. Other than the normal maintenance items, I have not had anything major go wrong with the car. I had to have the negative battery cable replaced last week as it was corroded and I had gotten stuck. The shop replaced the cable and also a VIAS solenoid sensor which they claim was disconnected and bad. The car ran well with no problems, but anyway I allowed them to change it. When I picked up the car it now has an issue. When you first start the car it turns over a little slower. The engine will also rev freely in park, but when you place it in any gear it will not move or no longer rev for a little while. Then all of a sudden it takes off like a rocket. Once the car is running it is fine and there are no issues. There are no error codes or service engine lights on. The mechanic thinks it could be the throttle body because it idles a little high at 1300 rpms or possibly even a clogged catalytic converter. If it is a converter it will get scrapped as that is too expensive. Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this? Maybe I will take it to the stealer to see if they can diagnose the issue if no one can help here.

Thank you.

If it was ****ed up after you picked it up from the mechanic, take it back to the damn mechanic. Why do we get so many of these?

I did take it back he told me to take it to a dealer. He thought it was a throttle body but couldn't be sure.

Did anyone here ever experience this problem? What did you learn?
