I have an 06 Max with 6spd got some major issues and I've come down to just replacing my engine with a imported JDM.

Here's the problem I'm having I can't seem to find a shop in Toronto that has a motor from a manual transmission car, All of the shops i called only have engines with an automatic trans.

My question is will an engine that had automatic trans work for my car by swapping over the flywheel or do i need additional parts?

 

The oil upper pan may be different, just need to swap it. There is a thread, maybe in the all motor section, explaining the differences in detail.

Auto or manual matters not. Any VQ will work.

 

I just replaced my motor from my 6spd car with one from a auto. Depending on the year yours comes from the CKP sensors are different as well so look out for that. Flywheel as mentioned is obviously going to transfer from your old motor. I would swap all your old sensors over since you know the condition of them.
