Driving automatic with the manual shift

Hi, my 2006 114000km nissan maxima jerks when i'm accelerating. It only do it when i'm driving alot. If i drive to work and come back which is 28km in total. It doesn't jerk. But if i use my vehicule all day, let's say i'm going somewhere far or shopping. The transmission will start to jerk. Yesterday i drove all day and when it started to jerk i put the transmission in manual. And the problem went away. Is it better or safer if i always drive in manual ?
