Just got mine last week--2009 SV, pearl white w/ premium package--and I LOVE IT!!!! MAn, what a difference from the 2004 SE I had! Out of 8 very nice cars, the 09 Maxima is by far the nicest I've own!

Do your research because you can pick one up cheap if you know how to haggle. Got mine, MSRP 37800, cash price 32000 with a 120k 8yr Nissan B-2-B warranty, plus maintenance, seals, gasket coverage. Opted for the 0% interest too. Cant beat it!

I wanted to writeup a followup to my original review in January 09 when I first bought my 2009 Maxima SV with SportTech, White exterior, Black Interior.

I had a opportunity to drive my new ride quite a bit so far this year. Thanks to multiple road trips, I have put on 25,000 miles since January 2009 (majority highway miles), and I have enjoyed every minute of it.

With the exception of a weird thumping noise that recentlly appeared from the front drivers side wheel (likley a wheel hub bearing problem), that is being taken care of under warranty, I have had no reliability issues or complaints, whatsoever.

I love this car as if I just took delivery of it. Every time I go to the store and park in the parking lot (far far from other cars ) I still find my self looking back over my shoulder at it, admiring and staring. I think this is one of the hottest looking cars on the road today, I am constantly complemented on it.

I cant say enough about the performance on the road, with its sheer seemingly endless power, explosive acceleration from any starting speed, precise handling and very fun manual transmission mode, I routinely embarrass BMW's, Mercedes, & the likes on the express way as they try to keep up or prevent me from passing them, to no avail.

The fantastic audio system gets quite a work out, I have several hundred songs on the hard drive, and the Navigation System is awesome and easy to use. I particularly like that I can speak my destination to the system while I am driving down the road.

In short, it is by far the best car I have owned in the last 10 years and I highly recommend it.

Thanks for reading.

Absolutely.

It is sort of normal to just casually peruse this board until a problem crops up, then post the problem here. That makes it seem like we are all having lots of problems with this 7th gen. But many of us have had nothing but thousands of very pleasurable miles, and are totally enjoying this beautiful 7th gen Maxima.

Thanks for the good words, g_jammer.

I bought my Maxima, SV with Sport & Tech packages and think it's the best car I have ever owned.

I have owned many Nissan's over the years, I used to work as a Consultant at NNA in Gardena here in L.A. I have used or owned the following working for Nissan and since over the last 7 years:-

3 Nissan Altima's (2002 - 2005)
2 Nissan Murano's (both 2005)
2 Nissan Maxima's (2005 & my current 2009)
1 Infiniti G20 (2003)
1 Infiniti G35 Coupe (I owned that from June 2005 until June 2009)

The 2009 is by far the finest Nissan I have ever driven. I absolutely hated my G35 Coupe and couldn't wait to get out of it. The Maxima's a superior car in so many ways.

I now own two Maximas

Well,

I got a real problem with these cars. I own my 04 outright and the dealer was giving me nothing to trade in my baby. Black on black, loaded, ftsb, tint, brand new dunlop tires, new wipers, inspected till 2012, new pads all around.

So i took the low apr from NMAC, and bought a 2010, black on black max with sport package. Basically all but the navi.

And kept my 04! What is wrong with me? Did I join a cult with this car?

So now my garage has an 06 murano, black on black, loaded (hers).
2010 maxima, black on black, 19's, spoiler, camera, paddles...oh yes...paddles
and out front in the driveway is an 04 Maxima SE black on black loaded. I have a friend who will keep it in his garage until i can find someone worthy to sell it too.

I am starting a museum.

Picks to come. Now I gota mod the thin.

A member of the ORG for over five years, yet only 38 posts? Surely you have a LOT to add to discussions here. You are holding out on us, sweetlou.

A black-on-black '04 SE, a black-on-black '10 Sport, and an '06 black-on-black Murano? Why not occasionally a Black Cherry, or Dark Slate? There are other crayons in the box. Of course there are those who would say you nailed the color right every time. By the way, I know a good contractor who could build you a three car garage.

Thank you. You are right I will post more. I specifically want to see about the ftsb in the new car. it handles great now and wonder if it is worth it. It was worth every penny in the 04.

I remember several here who installed Stillen rear stabilizer bars, and I'm sure someone here must have installed front ones. Maybe they will speak up and let us know how it worked. I wouldn't think we would get quite as much improvement as with the '04, because this 7th gen starts out with a clearly tighter suspension.

My Maxima days are likely behind me. But my mom got an 09 not too long ago, and I have logged many miles on it myself.

It is vastly superior to the gen6 in every conceivable way. Where the gen6 was chunky and ungainly in appearance, sluggish and unwieldy in motion, the gen7 has a very lithe appearance, and pretty sharp handling. I think the 4DSC sticker is a little exaggerated. For a front-driver though, she can move. Not quite a gen4, but at least Nissan is back on track.

It is probably my unfamiliarity, but I just can't get my head around the CVT. It works well enough, but it just seems to take too much time to spool up when you need it. The virtual shifting, however works very well. It feels like the car is accelerating quicker in sport mode. My gut tells me that as that belt is adjusting, it is absorbing power, while the virtual gears keep the belt stationary, hence not eating up power.

I still don't care for these newer VQs though. They don't seem to have the range of the VQ30s. All that massive power is focused too tightly in the mid-range. But whatever they did with the drivetrain on this car, my applause. I could not detect even a hint of torque-steer. For 280 hp (or whatever this car is) that is saying alot for a front-driver. Amazing.

All in all, it is quite a wonderful ride. Even though my mom cheaped out on the interior, it is still quite handsome. And I really like the little orange light in the ceiling. Just enough light so you can see the cupholders at night. Brilliant idea! And the over-exaggerated rear haunches truly make the styling of this car. Controversial though it might be, if you are one who likes the styling, you truly love it.

I wasn't even sure I was ready to buy a new car...I was looking becasue the one I had had hit the 99,9__ mark and I wasn't sure how much longer it would last.

Went to Toyota--limited inventory--then I stopped next door --Nissan. I ended up driving out with a 2009 (the last one they had) Nissan Maxima SV with the Preformance package.

This is my 1st Nissan--it has TONS of features--I hope I can learn how to use them all and it's not too confusing...Personally I've never paid this much for a car/had one this "nice". I hope I feel its worth it once I start making the monthly payments

I picked up my 2010 Maxima SV (Premium, Technology, Tuscan Sun, cafe latte) on December 31st, just before the dealer closed at 5pm. I was the last new vehicle out the door for '09. I took the plunge after reading anything and everthing I could about these cars, including all the recent posts here. I got a great deal, the cash back, and the zero percent financing for 60 months, plus the sales tax deduction that ended on Thursday. I guess the stars aligned just right to make this deal work for me. I love the car. It is everything I had hoped it would be. I spent all day today out in the garage programing, adjusting, tweaking to my heart's content. Looking forward to keeping up to speed with all things "Maxima" here.

hey guys, I'm new, I'm about to head off to college and was allowed to litteraly pick from anything on the market at about 25-28k range. I looked at camaros (my favorite car for years) used volvo bmw ect... went to ever dealership in town. But I kept landing on the 09 maxima, used 35k miles (rental car). it was a pretty stripped down version I think. Black with cloth seats and no nav (didnt want nav because I dont need it). anyway I ended uo getting it tonight, paid 22k for it and got them to throw in aftermarket leather which is nicer than the leather that comes with it. I was goin to put a sound system in it from the beginning so I dont care about that either. anyway I wont get it back untill wensday at the earliest but I love the way it handles, its very comfortable and I feel like 5 or 6 years down the road I'll still love it and its functional so that was a huge plus for me. I almost got a Z but decided I wanted a back seat. Nissan is by far the best car company I have found, and it has alot to do with my dealership I guess. They have been selling cars to my family for years and they always give us a good price. I was just wondering about getting a body kit or something, and if anyone thinks thats a good idea. sorry I typed a book but I'm pretty excited. looking foward to learning alot more about cars as I continue to upgrade mine! By the way I dont really know much about cars...hope yall dont mind.

I was looking at the new Maxima's this past weekend but they are not working any good deals for the 09's here is San Antonio. Maybe in a couple of weeks. Need something new as a 2 seater isn't cutting it as a daily driver

I purchased my last two vehicles 02 Pathfinder and an 07 Altima SL from Round Rock. I went there the day after Thanksgiving to get an 10 Maxima and the Internet Salesman told me to come back on Saturday, he was busy with a customer---LOL
Nope I did not go back, just searched Anciria, Southpoint and Ed Hicks in Corpus Christi and found my car in CC.

You can't go crazy over a few hundred dollars, someone always gets a better deal eventually. I had one of the lowest priced deals back in 08 when they first came out, and a few months later people got them for 800-1000 less than me, or with more options. Can't worry about it.

Just pulled the trigger yesterday. Being a Pontiac guy since I learned to drive (11 years), I was looking for something similar and didn't want to support Obama Motors, and I loved the Maxima. I was haggling before the holidays and didn't really get the deal I wanted, and they called me yesterday and said they would back-date everything to include the December incentives and give me the deal I was looking for.

2010 Silver SV Premium w/ Tech and Spoiler
MSRP - $39,350
Paid - $34,497
$36,770 OTD with the 0% financing, and they threw in $100 service credit and 2 free oil changes.

This forum is great BTW.

Everyone posting about how much they paid should probably post in the "how much did you pay" thread..... You are all making me depressed lol. I avoid that thread like the plague. Lets keep all talk to money in there so I can go about my day not having to think about how I bought mine about 3 months before the car market hit the floor.....

I've had mine for six weeks now and absolutely love it. I've been driving Maximas since 1987 (a new one every three years, on average) and must say that this is amongst, if not, the best. Love the tighter turning radius. Still playing with all the bells and whistles; for example, I just discovered that you can toggle through the ipod menu with the steering wheel controls. Until yesterday, I was using the touchscreen..Perhaps I should spend the weekend reading the owner's manual! lol.

Purchased mine in December 09. Got a good deal with cash back. Traded in my 03 Max (6speed manual) for a gorgeous silver 2010 premium/tech. The car had only 4 miles on it! I'm still in the break-in period but this car has power, style, and luxury! Installed the Stillen intake and it sounds even better. Even today it has the "new car smell" which is addicting!

GEAR HEAD is correct... this forum is great!

Well, I was SUPPOSED to pick my 2010 up today, BUT the dealer's driver was unable to go get the car from wherever it is and they had to find another driver. So now my car will be delivered tomorrow (Saturday) where I will say good bye to my baby (2004 RX-8) and welcome with loving arms a Crimson Black SV with Sport and Monitor packages. I was so disappointed I couldn't get it today. But tomorrow all that will change. I can't wait.

Naturally, today was easily the prettiest day so far this month where you live (Greenville SC), and one of the few days this month where the low was above the teens and the high actually got out of the thirties. But try to pick your car up early Saturday, because the day will cloud over, with heavy rain arriving in Atlanta by noon and in Greenville shortly afterwards. At least you will find out quickly if your car has any leaks.

i Got my 2010 on december 31 2009.. Its an SV with premium package.. to be honest .. there were a quite a few ohter cars i was looking at.. but only because i never reallly looked at the maxima... once i actually sat in it i fell in love..

i've only had it for about 2 weeks , but i've been loving every minute of it .. the accelaration , the luxurious feeling (compared to my previous car the comfort level is quite drastic)...
This is my first Brand new car.. i've denied my self this luxury for quite some time , and for being the first i feel i made a great choice. i'm glad i chose this moment to take the plunge into car payments,,

ranmax - I think you chose well. The premium package has more goodies than I can keep track of. You did not mention your color choice. There is no 'bad' color on the 7th gen color palate.

white.. "frost" white i believe is what they call it ... and strange that my first brand new car be white .. white never made it to my top choice of colors
