I picked up my '11 Maxima last Monday and it is a great car. I have only put 300 miles on it but I can tell that the vehicle is made very well. I got a really good deal on it so that also was a perk to buying this car. I was looking at an Accord for the same price as my Maxima S and there is no comparison. This car hands down is more advanced than the Accord. Not to mention much more interior space. I wish I would have bought one a long time ago!

Took ours on its first road trip yesterday. Got 23.7 mpg in just over 300 miles. It was mostly all interstate running 78-80mph. I assume milage will get a little better after it is broke in better. Just 750 miles on the clock.

My 05 would get 27 on that same trip.

I'm glad I went with the Maxima, rather than the 335i's I was looking at. Don't get me wrong, BMW makes a great car, but I need HP along with bells and whistles! This 2009 SV is awesome! Everything is holding up and I couldn't be happier when i'm cruising at 80, down shift to 4th with the paddles and well.. you know the rest.

I suggest you to google your car's bluebook value before negotiating a price.

2011 in the driveway

I just picked up a 2011. I've had a 2003, 6 speed before and loved it. Last year I had the opportunity to pick up a 2003 350Z, but wife and family came along so I had to sell it. I was very sad to let the 350 go because it was such a great car with a fabulous motor!

The 2011 has the same power and has made me extremely happy! I have an SV without the sport or premium package. I'm not so much into all the gadgets at this point in my life. I absolutely love the car! The dealer took $5500 right off the top and then gave me $1500 extra for my trade. It's a great time to buy, do your research and get a great deal!!!

Just bought my 09 Maxima SV with ALL options (yes dual sun\moon roof, heated/cool seats, Nav, paddle shifters, etc) org. 25000 not including TTL, but negotiated them down to 23000 out the door /w TTL . I did a lot of searching and at this price point for a fully loaded Max was a steal!

Farewell 5.5 gonna miss ya, and hello 7 gen! Car rides great, and I'm really enjoying the features.

Love my 2011 SV Premium. Wish you could get the 19's on the premium. Other than that this is the Greatest car I've owned! Anyone know how to change the time (Non nav) with screen package. I try to do 24 hr format and it is 12 hours off. Like it thinks it's AM when it's PM. I go into clock settings and adjust time is greyed out.
Thanks

Who is looking at the 2012 Maxima? Makes me think the 2009-2010 models would be sold to the dealer to pick up the 2012 and the price(s) would be slashed to make sales.

I've had my 2012 Maxima S Limited Edition for just about 2 weeks now.
So far, this car has lived up to my every expectation, and more. Decided to post some pictures since I haven't seen many on here of the LE. The dark grille and alloys together with the smoked headlights and tail lights look awesome on the Winter Frost. I've been getting constant compliments on the looks of this car, starting even before leaving the dealership. Inside, the new metallic trim looks really good as well, very clean. I love this car.

2011 Max SV Premium

Just picked up my very first Nissan - a 2011 Maxima SV Premium pkg car. It's Silver with the black leather interior. I took delivery last Monday night (at 11pm!) after driving in to look at one with my 2010 Silverado as a trade-in. They were blowing out the 11's at a huge discount and when I blurted out what I would take for my truck they said "ok". This was at closing time on a Monday night, hence taking delivery at 11pm.

I've got almost 250 miles on it already and so far love the car. I drove a sport model and a premium version and could not tell the difference in handling. The sales guy let me drive both cars hard too. I wanted the 19 inch wheels but settled with the 18 inch alloys. I'll most likely upgrade them at some point.

I have an older (02) Acura TL-S with extensive mods so I'm familiar with "spirited driving" and look forward to some tasteful mods to my new Nissan!

Thanks CA - Yeah the full roof is pretty cool. I like that you can completely close it off too if you want.

Is it only me, but I feel the orange display center screen could be a full color type screen, or is that only the premium package with navigation?

When I looked at the different models/packages the salesman told me there is a higher end display. We drove a car with the orange looking display and the car I eventually bought (SV Premium pkg) had the full color display which is much better. I think the one I have is better due to the backup camera?

Not sure if it's part of the premium package or a separate option but it's wayyy better than the lower-end display.

Note: my car does not have Nav either

that would be the monitor package that gives the color display.

The orange display has only the music system sans tech package. The color display comes with and without: nav

Here's my question, is it entirely possibly to drive off a car lot with an 2009 or 2010 for $23,000 total sale price, including tax etc?

-Edit, no replies?? I looked at a 2009 Black SV with 59,000 miles for $24,000. Thoughts?

  • For the money this is a nice (almost luxury) vehicle with a lot of options rolled into well-designed packages.
  • The suspension is not what I would consider soft (as you can certainly feel the bumps in the road), but definitely not obtrusive and it won't jar your glasses of your face.
  • Acceleration is great...feels almost as good as my '09 Challenger R/T.
  • Handling is better than my '09 Challenger...which shocked me (until I started thinking about how much the Chally actually weighs).
  • I'm 6'1" and I fit in the vehicle comfortably (as well as enter and exit with ease). However, in the back seat I have to lower my head to sit up straight.
  • With my seat all the way back, my son fits in his booster seat and has plenty of room for his legs. My baby girl's car seat base went in without any problems and I only have to scoot the passenger seat up about an inch to clear the back of the rear-facing car seat.
  • I love the iPod integration...the best I've seen so far (as a matter of fact I leave an iPod in the car connected 24/7 and never have to touch it...mayber I should check to see if it's drawing power even when the car is turned off).
  • The 9-speaker Bose system is very good! It's not great because you have no ability to control the mids and the bass is not phenominal (6x9 speakers).
  • I love the rolled tips on the exhaust and think that Nissan's inexpensive upgrade on the chrome tips really adds something to the rear of the vehicle.
  • Speaking of the rear...why have ONLY the word MAXIMA on the left side and nothing else to designate the trim level on the right side? Something like SVP, SVS, SV-P, SV-S, or S would make the rear aesthetically pleasing. I ordered my own letters to rectify this problem.
  • Nav system is good and I like the weather updates.
  • The bluetooth connection to my work Blackberry is phenominal...it grabs everything (i.e., my phonebook, signal strength, call-log, battery life of my phone, etc.). Once again...best I've seen!
Bottom line -- I'm enjoying this vehicle and would recommend one for any of my friends and family. Cheers!
Just bought an SV. I would love to have letters on the right side. Where did you order yours?

Is this a pre-owned Maxima or a new vehicle?

Smile I love driving all over again!

Hey all, this is my very first post. This is my second Nissan ever. I had a 96 Altima SE back in the 90's. That was a blast to drive. I have had all sorts of cars ranging from my last three cars, BMW 530i, 325i and 528i, as well as a 2000
Civic Si and 1980 Mazda RX-7 as my first car. I love cars and when I picked up my 2011 Winter Frost white Maxima with SV pkg, premium pkg, spoiler, mud guards, mats and trunk organizer, I was in shock. This car is AWESOME! The exhaust note on the car is awesome, the performance and rider are smooth and I LOVE the CVT so far. I have never had one but I am liking the fact that I am averaging 24 mpg on the way home (it was about an hour drive from the dealership and that involved traffic). Coming from the 03 BMW 530i with sport pkg and 5 sp manual, I can honestly say I love driving again. Don't get me wrong, the BMW is great to drive, has awesome driving dynamics and balance, but the continuous repair bills of $800-1200 multiple times a year wore me down. It seems as if the car was not meant for winter. There were always issues like blown radiator, to leaking expansion tanks and blown valve cover gaskets. The fact that this car is immensely cheaper to maintain yet has twice the luxury is incredible. It is still amazing to me that cars 8 yrs later have luxury items that cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars more than what I paid. The sticker on my 530i was around $52k, the sticker on my Maxima is $39.4 and as it stands now, there is no denying that the Maxima has far more amenities than the BMW. I love this car and I look forward to my commute now

That just about sums up the Maxima. BMW or Mercedes, you'll have to look at mid-level models to at least compare and those price tags are well into $50k.

We have had our 2011 for 3 months and 1 day, about 4000 miles.

Wife got hit last night and spun her around at speed (60mph) into a guardrail backwards and concrete bridge rails after that.

I just hope they total it, It is beat up BAD! She walked away unhurt.

We just bought a 2012 Maxima with Sport package & also got the monitor package & the lighting package which is on backorder but should be in mid December & the dealer is installing it for us. We got the Super Black with Black premium leather. The 19" wheels look great & the smoked out headlights are a plus. We just tinted the windows 5% & got the caliper paint (red) & will have them done in the next couple weeks. Since I am new on this forum I can not start a thread or post pics but as soon as I can I will. So far we have about 1400 miles on the car & have took two road trips & averaged 26.8 MPG! Alot better than the 05 Armada we drove!
