iPhone iOS 5 and Bluetooth audio

OK, so I upgraded to iOS 5 today on my iPhone 4. Everything works with the phone functionality over Bluetooth, but the audio now seems to have an issue. I was hoping to start seeing the track names through bluetooth with this release.
My 2010 Max keeps saying "Connecting to XXXX iphone" when I select the Bluetooth audio, and just sits there. I tried re-pairing, no change.

Anyone else upgrade yet?

Just tried it again after posting this...... it's working now after rebooting/restarting both the car and the iPhone. All good.

Can see the track information now with Bluetooth audio.... Sweet!

Just upgraded to iPhone 4S. Have the bluetooth all set up for making calls, but how do I actually play music from it via Bluetooth? This would be amazing!!!

Thanks in advance...haven't played around with it much in the car!

So after messing around with it, I assume now that bluetooth audio streaming can only be done if you have the Tech package?

You need to have the navigation system to do BT streaming audio.

The Max is loaded so it should work. I will try again. I was having problems with the iPad connecting to my car via bluetooth.

Can I access Siri from the steering wheel? It would be great if I could use voice commands.

In my Maxima I can play audio over Bluetooth and with the new upgrade to iOS five I can't even see track information on my navigation screen. For some reason from time to time the car seems to have a hard time connecting to the iPhone ever since I upgraded to the iOS five. If something causes it not connect right at start up it'll continuously say connecting to iPhone even though my phone says it's connected and if I go into settings for the maxima under Bluetooth and audio player it will also say that it's connected. But the screen will still say connecting to iPhone and I cannot play music. I'll have to turn the car off and walk away come back and start it up before it'll reconnects successfully.

This doesn't happen all the time just every now and then for some reason.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I'm experiencing less range after the upgrade to iOS5. I usually keep my phone in my pocket with no problems. Now, after the upgrade, I get intermittent breakups when streaming audio over Bluetooth. Same hardware, different OS. I think this may be a bug.

Not yet Apple hasn't enabled Siri over BT yet.

While you can't actually start Siri via the steering wheel you can give commands over bluetooth once Siri is active.
I've been able to do pretty much everything like send a text, email, completely control music, etc...

Just start Siri on the phone and the Maxima will think its a phone call and you'll hear the Siri chime over the speakers then can do whatever you want via voice commands.
Its gotten to the point where I make sure my phone is in my pocket with the button facing out so I can start Siri easily!

iPhone 4S

Here's my problem, I had a 3g and I bought an adapter so I could charge in the car and it worked with no problem. With the 4S, when I play music, I get feedback( High pitched humming) and I can't listen without disconnecting the adapter and running directly to the phone.

Any recommendations for a good charger without the feedback?

Love the 4S!!

Mine sync'd right away. Both my 3GS with iOS5 and the 4S connected without issue - at least for the phone.
However, I was not able to add it as a bluetooth audio device until I totally unpaired it.
I had to remove it from the Maxima.
Then I went into Bluetooth settings on the phone and chose to Forget this Device for the car connection.

Then I paired it as an audio device with the car, then as a phone.
Now it works fine.
This is with the nav system.

Have you tried re-pairing yet?

Settings button
Bluetooth -> Connect Bluetooth

It then asks you to hit yes if connecting a phone, or no if connecting an audio device.
Then asks for the pair code

I have the Max 11 and iphone 5.0.1, and have the problem of calls losing their audio for lengths of time. My service man says it's my phone, but reconnecting it doesn't help.

My iphone 4 bluetoothed drops calls. The dealer says it's the phone (ios 5.0.1) but I wonder. The calls start, then the audio goes silent. The person on the other end can hear what I'm saying, but I can't hear them. This will last from 5-30 sec then reconnect.

I have 2011 Max SV with Nav Tech and IPhone 4 IOS 5 and have had no issues since I purchased the car in October. I actually have 2 Iphone 4's, one is mine and the other is for work. I have them both paired and have to switch from one to the other manually but no problems at all during calls with either of them.

I have a 2012 with nav and my 5.0.1 4S works great with it phone wise. USB works great but Siri doesnt work when USB is connected (likely an Apple problem). Bluetooth audio (music) skips occasionally.

iPod Question

On my '09 Max I've got the Sprt Package/ Nav screen. When I plug in my IPod touch all it will allow me to do is go through my entire playlist....one song at a time. I can't go to the previous song or switch between artists, etc. my Quick Reference Guide says the iPod operation shown on the center display is similar to the IPod interface. I'm not seeing it. All I see is the Artist and Song name. I want to be able to switch between songs, artists, playlists etc but can't seem to. Anyone have any solutions?

From ipod screen Press the "AUX" Button below the screen until your back at the ipod source, you should see an alternate menu screen, us the menu and back buttons to navigate through similar to ipod controls. If your still having trouble let me know, im not in my car right now and cant visualize the exact details correctly

Streaming Pandora from Iphone 4?

Hello - New here, just purchased a cert 2009 Maxima. It didn't come with an iPod cable. Before I purchase one I wanted to know - can I stream Pandora from my iPhone 4 from the ipod cable or is it just for music I have stored on it?
