Here is where you need to read if you want to achieve this. Very easy to do just need to know how to get to your screen or the speed sensor wire. Find your service manual and find out if you can do this without going into the back of the monitor. IF you need help send me a pm and have the service manual on hand and I will help if I can. http://www.nissanforums.com/pathfind...-nav-hack.html & http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/new...e-version.html Good Luck...

searched the net found just about every year maxima's service manual but yours . Worst case senerio if you want the wiring diagrams go to the dealership and ask to see the service manual electronic diagram. My dealer lets me look at them all the time and even lets me make printouts if I need them. or might be worth purchasing your own ebook off the net. http://cgi.ebay.com/2009-New-Nissan-...3A1%7C294%3A50 worth the cash IMO.

i have the manual and know what to do on the wires. the only thing that prevent me is that I can't seems to remove the radio out of the center console. I see the explore section of how it assemble and try to pull it out but unable to.

here is the instrument panel diagram

Looking at the manual it seems as if it just lifts off, but i am sure you will need something pushing and prying from something thin or flat

Detach the cluster lid D (1), using a suitable tool, then remove
the cluster lid D assembly (1).
• Disconnect the harness connectors.

It looks like the same way the 6th gen does. the piece pulls up and out. For the 6th gen there are two screws at the bottom of the piece you remove then pull towards and up at the same time and it comes out. at the top of the piece there are three plastic pieces that have a groove at the top of them that hold it in. So they need to go down a bit before you can pull this thing out. There are many posts on how this is done for the 6th gen I will see what I can dig up.

it is easy to remove the radio once you able get the cluster lid D out which I still can't. I have try to use the screw driver and the paint can opener to pry it out but it's not moving at all. I don't wanna force it and break the lib D or damage the dashboard.

Hello Everyone,

Still Waiting for my maxi to come in, but looking forward in modding it the very first day i get it ... Looking over all the information i could find it seems that the cluster lid might be held on by screws. but i am not sure if they are from the bottom or from the top. anyone can help out who has a maxi does it look like it just lifts off ?

I checked out the link and I think it looks promising!!! Now all we have to do is wait for someone to take the plunge and actually go ahead and install the module interface. Can't wait.........

If any one wants to test the KPtech NI35 on an '09 Max hit me up - we offer a decent discount for beta testers.

We would love to run a group buy on here once we get confirmation that it works and after we get approval from the Admin.

Please make sure you read the Manual and the other threads about Ipods and the Max. The interface is pretty straight forward, you plug it in and it connects. I do not believe that wyou will be able to watch Video though while driving, only music.

If you have specific questions you may want to create a seperate thread or add to one of the other ipod threads.

I would like to do the same to mine however what harness/relay did you purchase. KP Tech has a harness for the G37 is this compatiable with our max? I was able to find illustrations for the hack however they will comment or provide info on the video display hack while the vehicle is in motion. How long did it take you and will you be in the PA/MD area any time soon and what about the switch? As you can see I am interested but I don't want to get in over my head..... Help

I just cut the parking brake wire for the audio unit and grounded it. The vehicle speed sensing wire, I cut it and spliced in a single pole rocker switch from radio shack so I can turn off that input which makes it think the car is stopped. Took about 45 minutes. Here's a picture of the switch, I installed it on the fuse box cover because it was easy to remove and drill the hole.

Ok now where are the wires located and must I remove the entire dash to get to them? Did you take pics of the removal and installation process?..

Setup works good so far. It takes about a minute for the GPS to update my position on the map when I turn the VSS back on. I can't post a thread for the install because I don't have the 15 posts yet that you need before you can start a new thread. I did take pictures though. If you go to the Photo Gallery they are under the GPS Hack album.

Had the unit installed today, and works as described. No more greyed out screen when moving. Module was worth every penny.

There is not much of any risk. I had my unit professionally installed for $150. No dashboard scratches or dings. Its wonderful to not to have to pull to the side of the road to find a good restaurant or set a destination. No one knows its installed but you.

I am going to consult with my local audio shop to see if they can handle this install.......I mean they were able to install my remote start!

Just out of curiousity can you watch any videos while the car is operating. My wife and I are going to take a long raod trip from Missouri to Alabama in a few months and she drives me nuts if she does not have anything to entertain her. We usually bring our portable DVD player and she watches movies as I drive. Just wondering!

in the instructions .. it says: "For safetyreasons even with this module installed the AUX video input still will NOT work while the vehicle is in motion."

It's only one more wire that needs to be modified - but unfortunately there is an EXTREME amount of liabililty involved in making that modification. Anyone with a bit of electronics knowledge and a service manual should be able to figure it out.
