Agreed, however this should only be attempted by someone comfortable with disassembling dashes & properly connecting wires using approved methods.

And, anyone local to NJ/NY/PA, please contact me for your install needs

For those interested in purchasing the KPtech NI35 use the coupon code Maxima.org when checking out and you'll save $20 off the price of the NI35. This is good all through July!

This is an amazing product. A+. I got rambunctious on one splice and absolutely HACKED a wire - made a nice 3-wire-bundle-of-electrical-tape connection, but other than that the install was a breeze (Hey, I'm a mechanical engineer, NOT an electrical). This write-up is spot on and much appreciated. The unit works awesome and its very clever in that it uses the ENTER button as the switch. My hat is off to KPierson, this product rocks.

Anyone know if this will work on the 2010 since it has been changed? Also wondering if this would allow the built in DVD player to work while in motion. For passengers only of course.

I'm willing to bet the concepts are the same. Wire colors may/may not have changed.

But the 09's don't have the built in DVD capability.

Yes, you mentioned that. I'm still willing to bet that Nissan used the same interrupter technology in the '10's with DVD that they used in '09.

Just a matter of time till KP confirms it.

I don't expect any issues - the G37 has had the DVD player since '07 and it's worked fine.

Our module will NOT allow video to be displayed while the vehicle is in motion - there is simply too much liability involved.

You can watch video while driving by simply starting the video while in 'D' instead of while parked. The lock comes up when you shift to 'D' on my ride. Not as exciting as i thought, I never use it.

I just picked up my 2013 Maxima SV w/ Sport & Tech. I completed the mod on Saturday using a DPDT switch. I have done this mod on my JX35, and many other Nissan's and Infiniti's.

I now have full access to the Nav at the flip of a switch, and my boys can watch movies on the Nav screen while we are driving either through DVD or the Aux cables.

Let me know if anyone has questions, it is an easy and simple mod!

What switch did you get? I'm interested in doing this now just because I hate having to come to a stop to scroll past just 5 options on the Nav.

Any DPDT switch from Radio Shack works, cost less than 10 bucks!

so you can use the DPDT SWITCH instead of the Kp module
is everything else the same for install as the KP module ??

My goal is not to redirect to another site, but here is where I have have my write up for this install on a JX35. Install is exactly the same (obviously the dash comes apart differently) but the diagram I sketched for the DPDT switch is the same. All you are doing is tapping into the VSS wire and the Parking Brake wire going to the back of your AV unit. To get to this, the dash section on your Maxima comes apart fairly easily, and only involves removing 6 screws. Parts needed? Just a DPDT switch and some wire preferably in white, black, green, and red.
