Great thread, i dont mean to thread jack in any way but i wanted to offer a suggestion for LED lighting. Would the 7th gen community be interested in LED boards being made for the map, dome, side lights, door lights, and possibly lic plates? I did this for the 5th gen community (5th gen owner, here ) I noticed in the pictures that the 7th gen has almost the same housing as the g35 sedan (I did my brother's whole interior over with led boards NOT bulbs) so it'd be pretty easy to do as i have the measurements all set.

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...etal-maxs.html

here's the old thread, let me know i can get a list going and go from there if there is enough interest. thanks! makes me want to get a 7th gen later

yea the boards are cool but they cost more and require more power usage, but they definately look brighter and nice as well

Mood Lighting

Ok I have two questions. Can we replace the lighting on the mood light? It is currently orange and I just can't take the color anymore also can I turn the light completely off. Secondly, has anyone replaced the rear turn and brake light signals to leds. If so can you post pics.......

I'm changing my interior lights to LED's this week to a bright white i hate the ones in there now. But i was unaware you had to change anything else? i thought it was a simple R&R with the bulbs.

my bad guys, i recommend not buying the LED bulbs for the license plate lights, since those are 'constant-on' at night they will not last long, I need to replace them and I'm probably gonna purchase the 2 license plate lights from autolimnation, i'll let yall know how it goes...

Cool

Beautiful pictures and excellent mod! Wonder if the new lights would affect the "premium mood lighting"?

led installation

I first saw leds on my wife's car and thought they gave her car a crisp look. I have the frost white w/prem & tech package and followed the advice from this thread to buy and install leds. One word, "WOW", and that's from everyone that sees the car at night. I changed all the interior bulbs though, including the vanity ones. I even have led fog lights and they look great, bright white with a hint of blue, no mod needed. I do need some instructions for changing the glove box bulb though so if anyone knows how please post.

I just purchased an 09 maxima SV w/ premium pkg, and its a wonderful car so far but Just to be sure can someone sum it all up for me by telling me which LED bulbs i need to get and how many for a replacement on every possible light in the car including the license plate? I am looking to make this order as soon as I make sure I know what I am getting because i have nooo idea about any of these LEDs

thanks again

don't buy from v-leds, I've had their bulbs in for about 8 months now and 3 bulbs have already blown, I recommend buying from autoillumination...

Thanks michaelle8885! That was the first motification I made to the car, absolutely loving it! I took your advice on ordering the heatsink bulbs for the license plate but unfortunately ordered the others from VLed. I can always reorder from autolumination if they burn out. Its funny, my best friend gave me the WTF?! look when I told him I ordered the bulbs but now that he saw them, is ordering a set for his G35. Very classy looking. Thanks again!

I started with the side door lights as you suggested, and then moved on to the top two reading lights. Initially they started working, but when I tried to make reading light connections more secure something happened and now none of the interior lights will turn on. There's still power to the dashboard and radio, etc, just that the interior lights don't work now. I checked all the fuses and they are all ok. Any idea what could be wrong?

try to the fuses like you suggested and if still then take out the bulbs and put in the stock/original bulbs and see if those work

Thanks for the tip. Turns out a fuse was blown. I didn't catch it at first because it looked normal. I had to use a voltmeter to find out it was bad. I know this thread is a year old, so thanks for the quick response.

Deadly...which LED's did you buy for the footwell lights (the ones on floor near front passengers feet)???

Specifically which 5 led light did you buy from autolumination for the map/personal lights front and back. I bought a 4 led from them and they work in the front but were too short for the back so I put them in the doors.
