I just paid Crutchfields to install new speakers, an amp, and a Cleansweep system. Still not happy with the sound, but the bass is better and overall sound is improved. It still has stereo separation issues that I want improved. I think it is because of the front window mounted tweeters. The sound just reflects off of the front window and gets muddied.

The Crutchfield guys did have a lot of trouble figuring out the Bose amp wiring. There are a lot of digital lines going to the Bose amp that probably do something with the hands free phone stuff and navigation voice prompts. The way they wired it, I ended up loosing fader control as they took all of the signal for the Cleansweep from the front speakers. I still think there could be improvement there if I just had the wiring diagram for the Bose amp's inputs and outputs. Anybody know where I can get that?

Thanks.
That is foolish that they did that. The amp is on the roof of the trunk - two harnesses plug into it. Go here: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/maxima/2009/

Select "AV" and somewhere in there all the wiring is completely broken down in a table. Using that you can tap into the wires. I just used a Re Q for now since all I added was a sub, but down the road if I end up doing the whole system, a clean sweep will be a must. How do you like it?

I am VERY surprised that you aren't happy with the sound.... What kind of speakers / amp did you get?

I am not a fan of the Bose system in this car at all. It does not add any quality to the sound. Just a cheap marketing ploy by Nissan. I will eventually swap out the speakers and change the radio later on when I pay down the note.

I agree with the above poster, setting the fade to number 3 does sound much better.

I like the sound the Bose system produces on my 09 SV. I did notice that the sound more is front driven. I'll play with the fader to correct that minor issue. Does anyone know if the Apple iPod classic 160 GB (7th Generation) works with the steering wheel controls?

Does your charges & shuts off if you leave it in the car? Also, are you using the cable from Nissan or your own type? If your own, which one please?

My 2010 Maxima SV (Tech Package) also works flawlessly with my 80GB iPod classic (7th Gen I think). This includes full control, charging and goes into standby when the car is off. I use the original cable that came with the iPod.

On my 2009. My 160Gb Ipod Classic, works fine and goes to sleep fine.

However my 20Gb Ipod 4th Gen. works fine, but does not go into sleep mode when left plugged in the car. I have to remember to select sleep manually on the Ipod before I leave the car. If I don't do it the battery on the Ipod will run down. Thus I when I take it in to work to use it for the day, it's dead.
