I did 20% all around (no windshield) and haven't had a problem yet. I'm in Ohio and i guess that 50% is the limit.

 

I just got my Maxima tinted with 35% FormulaONE Pinnacle, front and back. The film hasn't filled in completely in the rear window around the defrost bars. There's a tiny little gap between the defrost bars and the tint. The problem is when driving at night the light from the headlights behind me will catch in that gap and the tint will actually reflect that light so it looks like a glare. When there are a lot of cars behind me that glare can fill up the whole window. Does anyone else have that problem? When I got the tints done the guy mentioned the new Maxima has thicker defrost bars and the tints have trouble filling in all the way but eventually it would fill in. It's been about 5 days now since getting them. Should I take my car back to have the rear window re-done? Or is this just the way it goes? If it comes down to keeping tints and driving with a glare in my back window or no tints at all, i'd rather have no tints. Shame...I spent over $300 on them...

I did 5% on the rear and 15% on the sides. I keep my sunshade up to darken the rear even more. Once the weather gets better I will post some pics...

I'm in Ohio also, and have never gotten pulled over for 20%. Keeps the car cooler in the summer!

15 on the front and 5 on the Rear

 

I had 5 all the way on my last car and only got pulled over once. I paid the ticket and kept the tint because the ticket was cheaper that re-tinting. I had the car for 5 years.

dam bro, thats looks cool, but how do u dodge all the tickets? i get pulled over so many times for my tints and my PBA card dosnt always work

got 4 pending tickets, but i get them reduced and pay them off asap, sometimes i get them dismissed by getting a fake recipt saying i paid to remove them the same day i get the ticket or the next

Just did 15% all around and 40% on the windshield, still a lot of light. I wish I did 5% rear window and 35% windshield. The perfect mix for VEGAS sun would be 15% sides, 5% rear and 35% up front.

 

Hey everyone,

I'd like to tint my Maxima (it's Precision Gray) but don't want to (a) go too dark and (b) get stopped by the cops for the tint.

I live in L.A. does anyone have any advice for:-

1 - Tint percentages. I think a slightly darker tint on the back would look cool (like the Murano comes with from the factory)

2 - Recommendations on someone in the L.A. area that will do a good job on the tinting without costing the Earth!

How much roughly does it cost to tint the car? My old Infiniti G35 came with a tint, it feels strange to drive a non-tinted car!

finally get to see you max on campus. when i drove by you, i was trying to look inside but it was like total darkness. i still ask myself how u get to see at night driving lool.
i will be thinking mine soon. just havent made up my mind with the percentage yet. any idea?

here u go, but note that the sunroof is open so light from outside is making it look a bit more bright, the 35%'s are actually pretty descent

Hey guys im thinking about tinit my back windows and back windshield 15% and leave the front windows clear, i asked them for the price they told me $80..is this a good deal and would i get a ticket here in NYC?

 

Sounds very cheap. Make sure they are a reputable tint shop

 

I got lumar 20% on the four side windows and 5% on the rear window... the back 2 meter at 12% and the front meters at 16%...200 bucks.

the guy who did my car does all of lebron james cars and all of the cavs cars... check him out north shore tint...cleveland, ohio!

 

here it is.... LUMAR 5% in the rear and 20% on all 4 sides... i did not do the windsheild.. ohio law is 50% tint on front 2 windows. my fronts meter at 15-16% and the back 2 meter at 12%

i think this is the best way to tint your car!!

i need some advice im going for tints tomorrow and i have the smoked lamin-x tail covers ready to be put on. so i was wondering since the tails and spoiler brake light will be smoked what percent tint to get my back window?
i am going to do 35% on the sides and dont know whether to do 35% on the back as well or 20% on the back.

35% is what i went with all around. It looks dark especially with the rear shade up. I personally wouldnt go any darker in nyc. I had 35% on my last car for 3 1/2 yrs no problems. I will take pics later on....

NY, 70%??? That's like no tints at all

 

A friend of the family is NYPD in Queens and told me when i was talking to him that 70% is legal as well, meaning you have to be able to see through 70% of the car. He said they usually dont bother unless they can't see through at all or real dark, meaning 20%-5% and there doing something wrong to cause attention. Please keep in mind about 30-40% of the cars i see driving have tints darker then 35% from what i can tell. I dont think its a major issue at 35%-40%, then again my friend has 20% and never has any issues. Its all about the cop and other things ect....

Also it says 6" front visor for NY laws, how far down is the stock windshield visor tints on 09-10 Max's? anybody know? They seem pretty far down...

yea mine is super black and with the mod i have i dont wanno tint mine. my tail light is painted black n got stop by cop onces but one ticket. i will surely get ticket the moment i tint the car
