All cars I think should come from the factory tinted at 20% all around except the windshield. I think it makes it easier to drive also styling wise it looks better hence why all car commercials show it tinted. I hate being in a car now without windows tinted. Had mine done since I started driven in 03

LOL I don't know about you guys but I feel naked when I drive a car that has no tints. My girlfriend has a 09' Civic (with a Greddy fart can exhaust and a lousy JDM tow hook but no tints ) drove it a couple times and I felt naked. I prefer my Maxima . More privacy FTW!!!

LOL wow.... Well Civic si 's are known to be fast (at least I've heard) but my girlfriend just has the ex not si. I prefer the V-tec on Acuras more. My next car would probably be a white TSX or TL when I finish college with dark TINTS!!!!

That is actually is more of a blue tint I believe and my boy just got it on his VW towards the end of last summer. I am pretty sure he can get more of it.

Mine is Llumar life time warranty guarantee against fading also if it gets scratched I take it back to any authorized Llumar shop and they replace for free. Mine is non metalized. I've heard metalized having issues with GPS or TPMS and all that stuff as you said above

I honestly dont know but if I had to take a guess I would say they removed it bc that would definitely make it easier to do back there. Either way the place I go to get my tint done does a flawless job. The hardest thing with tint is making sure you are going to a quality place that does quality work

@ eepowers do you mean when you're saying "did they tint around your 3rd brake light" as in they didnt tint that part on my back windshield? If thats the case no they didnt do that it is tinted where the 3rd brake light shows through. Any place that would cut around it I would say isnt worth going to

I'm asking for the reason that jbling stated. I'm planning on adding a factory spoiler, and if I remove the 3rd brake light, I dont want there to be an awkward spot where there brake light was when I remove it. I think ill do my spoiler first instead of doing the tint first.

I want to remove my 3rd brake light so badly man. My car looks like Christmas lights when I brake. I asked my dealership if they could remove it for me but they are charging me $85 just to remove it... I rather remove it myself but that part I haven't figured out yet.

get in the back seat and face the brake light, push it towards the back window it should slide backwards and then come out. disconnect the wire and you're done. you used to be able to order part # 999J1-MVPSG which was a cover for the empty gap but im not sure if Nissan sells it anymore

Oh thanks Ghozt... I never attempted to remove it cause I thought it was bolted on. I'm sure Nissan should still sell them. If not, I'll just go to the dealer and yank the one out of the showroom model . I wish I can jack up the 370Z wheels on the showroom floor but too many witnesses.

New Jersey doesn't allow tint beyond factory on the front side windows, but I'm wondering what I might get away with, %-wise without having to play cat and mouse if a cop is nearby.

Jbling, you would have some experience here.

All comes down to the cop really and doing things to attract attention. I know people in NJ who have really dark like 15 and below and they get away with it. Regardless if u got a ticket always state that you bought the car with tint and/ or fight it

I've only been pulled over once for my 35% tints for the front . This cop wasn't a state trooper nor undercover, it was a lousy township cop that had nothing else to do... My tail lights are dark as night and I've never been pulled over just yet... Just as PSU09MAXIMA said, I also know people who have DARK tints....my colleagues have tints that are 5% all around and yet they get away with it.... My neighbor is a state trooper and his TL's tint are 15% around and the windshield 35% Ever since I got that stupid ticket, I've been rolling my windows down every time I see a township cop but not a state or undercover cop... I like them more....

Ask him what brand is it and how much did the tint and install cost him. Pictures?

If I can't find light green/blue tint, I'm going with the smoke tint by Huper Optik

Yeah State and Undercovers tend to not care about tint they have real things to worry about. It's always township or borough cops who are the ones who give people a hassle with it.

Here are some pics of various tint and I'd say they are pretty acurate on my Impala I had 15% on the rears and 35% on the front it was tan interior and the front really didnt look that tinted but the back did. My Cavalier was 15% all around with like a dark tan interior and that was dark even with light interior with dark interior it looks darker.
