R2C Performance Products Intake

For al the folks with K&N filters you should check out www.bobistheoilguy.com and ask in the AirFilters section about K&N filters.... You won't like the answers very much.

Yep my motto is similar, buy the best and cry only once.

K&N is one of the best and well known in all of filters...you base your opinion on some gay bob the oil guy LOLOLOL thats ridiculous

Then clean them properly. Im not the losers waiting on R2C's leash like their puppies waiting them to release something thats probably never going to come out. Screw that. Grow a pair and screw R2C.

Dude, relax. Personally i'm waiting to get the best intake around. If for some reason it doesn't come out, no biggie, I'll get something else and pop their dry filter on it. Good for you that you have wet dreams about K&N, but this thread is meant for those that support the development of the R2C intake.

K&N has one of the worst filtration capabilities.
Screw R2c. Sure. A company that has designed intakes for the military for 20+ years under DoD contracts. Yeah!

zomg it's just an intake that adds less than 5whp. it's all for sound. period. thats it. SOUND. period thats it. got it? not performance SOUND.
goto your local hardware store and make your own for 10 bucks. just as good. you can even pick your color.

Actually, yes. I just got a PM from Brian and he requested I post his response in this thread. He has been very busy lately and just got around to contacting R2C - the news is good:
"...Production orders have been given and he (R2C) anticipates having boxed units ready to sell in 4-5 weeks. The dyno runs they did were usefully conclusive, providing very consistent numbers on the baseline and post-intake runs, and showing an increase of 9whp.
Interestingly, he (R2C) described experimenting to see if it was warranted to insulate the intake tube by putting a blow torch on the tube while in the car on the dyno - and it had no impact! This actually doesn't surprise me because I've always been skeptical about the degree of heat transfer that occurs while air passes through a relatively short tube at high velocity. Anyway, these results indicate that there's no practical advantage to insulating that tube (which ='s lower production costs).
.... (paragraph deleted - basically said Cattman's mad busy and will respond to PM's but won't be posting on the forum)...
Thanks for your continued interest, I know that there's been a lot of hand-wringing in the 7th gen R2C thread over what appears to be R2C's uncertain progress, but that's just the nature of this business. A dynamic, forward-moving company like R2C is always juggling multiple projects with a minimal staff, and each one has a constituency behind it clamoring to be first in line. I understand how some can become impatient, but I continue to be impressed by R2C's initiative, and am simply glad that they'd even consider producing parts for our cars.

Cattman Performance"
So there it is... Digest it and comment. Looks like we are talking another month or two, but I am VERY happy to hear that production units are being made and this thing is going to be a reality! For those that have been patiently waiting, continue to do so - it will be worth it!

FWIW, its not that I won't post on the forum, but since there hasn't enough free time lately I haven't been able monitor the discussion closely and participate in a meaningful way. I'll be less busy after next week.

If you read post #384 R2C indicated that they anticipate shippable boxed units within 4-5 weeks from the 13th. It hasn't even been 2 weeks yet, so hang tight.

New member here. I Just wanted to say "Hello" and thanks to all the great members on this forum. One of the Best Car forums out there hands down ! Been keeping up with the threads for some time - because of all your great insight and advice I purchased a 2009 Winter Frost SV Sport/Tech. last October. Great car !! No problems at all. Added a Racingline FSB & Grounding kit not to long ago and have been happy with those.
Like a few of you I have been waiting for the R2C for some time - talked to Ed and Colin a few times and looks like its almost here. I only want a dry-filter so the R2C and the Takeda were the main two I was looking at. However the other night while looking up CAI's I found a brand new one. Wanted to get some input on this. Its brand new "as of 2 weeks ago"
INJEN "Dry" CAI for 09-10 Maxima's. +8 HP & +11 ft.lbs. Torque, Amsoil Dry filter, 99.53% filtration, filter heat shield, comes in Black or Chrome.
Like many here I wanted to improve sound and low-end power. Sounded good and with +11 Torque to the wheels...! (thats more than the Takeda & R2C) Just wanted to pass this on to all of you and get your thoughts on this product....
Thanks again to all of you !!
