R2C Performance Products Intake
#441
My apologies for not being able to provide information on the R2C intake system project, but even though the folks at R2C are real nice and make a great product, it can be difficult to get information from them sometimes. I've asked about the status of this project a few times in emails, but the question wasn't acknowledged.
We know they don't necessary keep to their project timeline, too, but given the way our development projects can get stretched out (did I hear 7th gen catback...?), I can hardly be critical about that.
However, I had a chance to speak with Ed today, and he told me that the 7th gen system was in production now and completion should occur some time between the end of this month and mid-August.

This will most likely be my first performance mod, so I am anxiously awaiting the release of this CAI. Looked at K&N typhoon systems, Fujita, aFe and Stillen, but this looks to be the best of the bunch.
I need to play catch-up with all you 2009 owners!

am not much of a performance guy but i have always put intake system on all my car i have owned so this will be the only performance mod i will put on. 290hp is enough power for me. so i cant wait to put this baby on

I checked out their website and found their systems for the 350 and 370Z's and appears to be a very well engineered intake system. Since this will be my main performance mod, I don't mind spending some good coin on a quality system. Let's hope they keep their word on the August release timeframe!

Well it only took Borla a month or two to develop an exhaust for the Maxima and release it to the public, R2C really needs to take some notes from them. I'm starting to think I've been holding out all this time for no reason.

It is currently in production and should be ready by the end of this month to mid-August. Do what you want, but patience is a virtue.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I sent R2C an email and was able to get a reply which was "All tooling and components have been released for production." I am thinking that since all the necessary parts have been released it should just be another week or two until it is ready for sale

Im not one to steal thunder or whatever... What does everyone think this intake will do??? I mean its not going to make 10 more HP than a Takeda ..Fujita or a K&N ....I mean it may have a slightly build quality ... But what else...Maybe Im missing something...

100% Engineered and made in the U.S.A., extensive R&D, dry filter element and the highest flowing in the industry, excellent build quality and excellent fit and finish. In the end yes, it is still just an intake, but if you want the best, this is the one to get. Otherwise, yeah, save some dough and get the Takeda.

Is Cattman still going to be the dealer for these? He doesnt have online ordering yet so I hope he's prepared to be bombarded with phone orders because I'm sure we all want one the same day they come out.

I really don't care, it is only an intake so I have no problem waiting for it. I would be lying if I said I didn't want it NOW though haha.

I think it is funny how people are saying they can't wait any longer. You make it sound like you can't drive your car without an aftermarket intake on it.
I personally have no problem waiting for a quality engineered intake to be released. The last thing I would want to do is have them rush it and there be an issue with quality control or something. Thanks for all the updates guys, but don't you think you may be getting on their nerves constantly calling about this every few weeks. Knowing that all of the tooling and components have been released for production is more than enough for me to patiently wait for the product to be released.
