My wife and I were in the north Georgia mountains for a wedding just over a week ago, and as we headed back south, we heard a strange rustling noise. We couldn't figure out where the sound was coming from. Finally, we pulled off the road, and began checking every inch of the car.

It turned out several dried leaves had fallen on the rear window, then slid down and were completely out of sight between the bottom of the rear window and the top part of the trunk. We hadn't even realized that hidden niche was there. We took the leaves out, and found we were once more riding in a smooth, quiet sports/luxury sedan. Life was good again.

 

What a peculiar issue. I'm glad that it turned out to be leaves. My mind races when I hear strange noises coming from my maxima. I have purchased too many used cars.

i too am very **** about any noises or rattles, so nice to know that hidden area is there in case i ever run across anything like that.

 

They will also slide around to the edges and hold water in turn risking rust from constant exposure.

I clean around there often.
