I'm 51 and my wife is 52. The Maxima is my wife's car. But this is the 3rd Maxima we have owned. Just love the car as a whole and lots of car for the money imo.

I got my first car ('75 Nova) when I was 21 in 1988. It was stolen and I didn't get another car. (I lived in Philly at the time where a car is optional). I moved to Alabama in 2004 and in 2005 bought a 2000 Maxima (Cars are NOT optional here). I have loved Maximas ever since. My 2000 bit the dust @ 200k miles and I now own an '08 Maxima and my wife drives a '10 Maxima. Just love them!!

I just turned 27 yrs old the beginning of this month. My first car was a 1996 Mitsubishi Galant with 43,000 at the time of purchase back in 2004, then in 2005, my 96 galant quit on me and I had purchased a 2002 galant that had 41,000. Drove my 2002 galant for 7years with 179,000 miles on it and now just recently purchase my new baby 2010 maxima

7th Generation Maxima Driver Age
I think for the price tag, you will find the 7th Gen Maxima owner to be somewhere most likely 27 - 36. That's based on the likelihood of the owner to be employed full time & taking over lower-to-middle management positions in their respective fields or professionals (i.e. Jr. Attorney, newer CPA, RN, Architect).
I just don't see a lot of younger people in High School or College driving the 7th Gen Maxima around town.

Quite a few of my friends are between age 75 and age 90 (ie, around my age). The few of those folks I know who drive Maximas are not on any internet car sites.
When I suggest they check out this site, they say they simply bought the car they liked the best, and have no interest in understanding, fixing or modifying anything on it. After further questioning, I find that most no longer have any interest in elapsed times, passing power, mods, etc, etc, and no interest is car sites. That seems to be the case with elderly friends driving other makes also.
That makes me sad, because I feel they are missing part of the fun of owning a car. But then it may be that they are just fine, and I am the one who never grew up. Whatever . . .

My Max history
I got my first Max, a used 96 back in '99. My next one was a used 03 that I got off a lease in 05. I just recently traded that one in for a new, fully loaded 2012 Max! Finally at the age of 52 I can justify leasing this sweet car! Kudos to my wife for talking me into it. What a woman!

Just bought my 09 Max sport + tech at a good price and just love it. I've spent the last eleven years driving a bare bones, no frills Hyundai accent with a tape player, no ac and a whopping 92 hp, so I'm estatic to be a member of the max club. What a nice car!

I'm 50 and on my 4th Maxima (93,97SE,03SE,12LE). Bought my first at 30. Skipped the incredibly ugly (IMO) 6th Gen. I was happy to see the new 7th Gen and see the Nissan had found their way with the car's design again. Probably be my last Max though, with what they cost, I might as well go Infiniti, probably M45, if they're still making it by the time this '12 dies off.

I test drove quite a few cars but the Maxima just kept calling my name.

Love all my Maximas
Well I am 28 for the next month and half and just bought my first brand new Maxima or car ever, 2012 SV Sport/Tech packs in Winter Frost. I have had many and it all started at the age of 5 when my dad bought his first new Max in 1989, Satin White Pearl Metallic (the greatest color ever on a Maxima) Sport Edition with Black interior. He gave me the car about 20 yrs and 330,000 miles later. I drove it until it hit about 398,600 some miles and the fuel injectors went bad, first major problem, all original engine and transmission, and an automatic believe it or not. Still have it setting in my parents garage waiting one day for me to fix. Loved that car so much my first daughters middle name is Maxima ( don't know how I managed to get my wife to go along with that one, but she did). The list of Maximas and other Nissans goes like this,
1989 Maxima Satin White Pearl Metallic/Black SE (Still have)
2003 Maxima Winter Frost/Tan GLE (Still have)
2007 Maxima Winter Frost/Tan SE w/Sport Package (Traded for 2012)
2012 Maxima Winter Frost/Black SV w/Sport/Tech Packages
Other Nissans
1990 300ZX N/A Gray with Gray interior (Sold for ex-wife, big mistake)
1999.5 Pathfinder SE Limited Edition Red with Gray interior (Sold)
Other Nissans in the family
2004 Altima (Sold) Parents car

I am 66 and bought my first nissan Maxima 2012 sport with Tech Package. I had many Honda Accords V-6 which are great cars for handling, reliability and resale value but I got tired of the road noise and their lousy seats in their last redesgin.

Dont be shy of telling your age. Personally, I am 25. I have loved Maximas since I have been old enough to drive a car. I have never been able to own one until now because I could not afford one that was still in the mileage range that I felt comfortable buying a car in.
