41 here and have had my 2011 QX3 Maxima SV sport for about two weeks. Traded my 08 QX3 Alti on it. I like so many others here have always had fast muscle car type vehicles. Domestics for the most part, the Altima was the first foreign purchase. At 16 I started out with a 1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL convertible 390 4bbl. Then on to a 1978 Ford King Cobra with a 72 Boss 302 transplant motor. 1985 Ford Mustang SVO, then 1987 Pontiac T/A Crossfire. During that time I purchased a 1978 T/A and did a complete resto on it. Some unknown person decided to relieve me of the responsibility of it. The 87 T/A was sold before the 78 was stolen. A 1987 firebird formula 350 arrived untill I went into the military. It was sold while I was gone. Upon returning My father gave me his 1985 Nissan Pick up to drive. 250,000k and I sold it to fund a 1991 ford mustang GT. It was replaced by a 1995 Chevy Z28. Then on to a 2000 Chevy Silverado. Then a 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi, I was begining to miss horsepower. During this time I gained a wife and two little ones, a house and a commute to my job. The hemi was killing me in gas, so along came my little 2008 Altima SE V6. It was domestic, and didn't have a V8 but I was very impressed with the CVT and the 3.5 VQ. 30,000 miles and I decided I wanted something a bit more mature, and a bit more sporty. Local Nissan Dealership here in the Houston area made me a deal on the only 2011 QX3 SV sport within 500 miles, I couldn't turn down. And so here I am, HoustonQX3 and nice to meet everyone, and you can wake up now I have stopped typing. Happy Thanksgiving.

27 here.
I too, have always loved the Maxima. Had my heart set on an '07 or '08.
Decided to drive an '09 for shiggles one day... fell in love during the test drive, signed papers about 10 minutes later. I do however, wish it had at least a color monitor... it has the hideous base model amber screen... dont really NEED nav, but I wish ANYBODY could give me a definitive answer on swapping out the amber screen. Please email, if u have ANY help! thank you ALL!

I have always been a Ford guy.. My family owns literally every line of car/truck ford offers. I had a 2001 mustang gt and recently got over my "sports car" phase. Little did I know, I was re entering the same phase when I fell in love with the '10 max! It was hard on my family to have a new member be anything but a ford let alone an import but after I showed them my homework and spec sheets and ratings they weren't opposed to it anymore. The day I brought it home and let them drive it, they became MAX believers! This car definitely gets overlooked and in the bay area of California it still isn't very popular on the roads but more and more people are jocking it especially all my friends and family. It has been weird making the transition to an import but I'm a prime example of adapting to the new age! So happy with my choice I just can't wait to put my little touches on it which I am having trouble putting a upgraded parts list together.. Don't want anything cheap in my baby!!

27 here, I bought a used 2009 Maxima SV Sport/Tech two months ago with 22k on the motor. This car is incredible, I love it. What a great mix of sport and luxury (with the package add ons).
My last car was an 02 Sentra SE-R that I drove for 5 years, it was a fun little car but I didn't fit in it easily and really the only things I enjoyed about it were things I added to it. Ended up wrecking it a few months back so had to get something new, and an upgrade was definitely in order.
The Maxima turns heads and always impresses the hell out of people when they see the leather interior with color nav screen...definitely fun making my coworkers with Mercedes and Lexus vehicles break their necks to take a second look and sometimes circle around my car.
The only downside is because this car looks so nice I want to wash it and clean the interior every week. I'm sure this will fade but man it looks sweet when it's all cleaned up.

1987 Ford EXP

2000 Mustang GT convertible (Still own it, it only has 47k miles on it, my son now drives it and I look ridiculous driving it at my age anyhow.)
2002 Honda Accord
2011 Maxima S
Got tired of driving plain Jane Accords although they were all reliable as all get out. It was time for an upgrade to something more sporty and so far so good for the first month that I have owned my Maxima. Wish I could've swung the SV, but I've got 2 kids to put through college soon.

First post - Age 51 - 2011 MAXIMA SV Mystic Jade / Tan interior. Fell in love with the car. I'm a long time Nissan Fan. 3-300ZX Turbos, 350Z, Altima, Pathfinders, and now the Maxima SV. I bought a nice corvette so 370Z are out of the picture now... Vettes are the nicest American sports car period.
The Maxima is a four door Z car that is good to take four people on a fun ride. Solid performer ... just plain fast. Most of my hot rods when I was a kid weren't this fast. ;-). It's really my wife's car but, I drive it most of the time except when she is commuting to work.
For speed thrill it's a supercharged Firebird for me.... But the Maxima makes a nice luxo-exotic-sportcar crusier. Can't beat it in my opinion. Just all around great car.
Be posting up more asap.
Enjoy the ride ..........
Here is just a few of my past Nissan's - I'll post up the Maxima later...

Quite a lineup! Loved your photo of the old Z. I drove Datsuns before they were Nissans (name changed in 1984). Those were the days! Couldn't help but notice the California tags. Watch out for earthquakes, mudslides and forest fires.
Welcome to the board!

My 11 SV is the third Nissan for me. My first was a new, classic '87 Maxima w/4 spd in White. That car was a smooth operator. In '05 I swapped a fairly high mileage silver '00 Pathfinder for a ridiculously low mileage '00 S-80 that was a deal I (thought I) couldn't refuse...I should have. That Volvo cost me about $2K per year and drove more like a truck than my Pathy.
I'm 37 although was a sprightly 35 when I bought my 2009 Maxima!
As I used to consult for Nissan when they were based here in L.A. I've had about 4 Altimas, 2 Maxima's (including my current one), 2 Murano's an Infiniti G35 and a Infiniti G20 (for a few weeks).
That's one or two Nissans
