7th gen maxima vs 2007+ Lexus ES350

the es350 was actually one of my other options; I had the chance to test drive one because my co-worker just bought one.

although it's a nicely constructed car, I'd have to say the car drives really boring. It feels a lot like a economy midsized sedan with a lot of woodgrain, chrome trimmings and leather.

it gets lost on turns and feels like a boat, power is like "whatever".

obviously most of you will agree but I'll just ask again..do you feel as strongly about this as I do ? or am I just so lustful of the max that I choose it over anything else?

My father had an 07 ES350, I liked it but was not crazy about it, the car is slow off the line, but it is designed to be like that, it still gets up and moves, the car suffered in the handling department but I think a nice set of wider tires improves that.

I don't know about an 07 but the 09 I bought my GF just didn't have the headroom for me. Nice ride, plenty of power, well behaved. She finds it suits her needs well.

Test drove one before I bought the max... I test drove a 2010 Lexus ES350, fully loaded... Frankly it SUCKED... for a 80 year old man it is a great car. But for me, I am 22 and am 6'5" 330lbs... Not enough head room, not enough width in the front seat to spread my legs to keep from forming a sideways division sign... and worst of all it just felt terrible driving it.

The closest car IMHO to the maxima atleast for me was the new VW Jetta TDI that bastard went from zero to 60 quick with all of that torque and cruised the highway great with the turbo, but the downfall of that was how high the seat was in the car. Felt like I had to open the sunroof and stick my head out the top of the car. Plenty of legroom and width to spare, but even the 5'10" Girl friend complained about it!

I looked at it as well and don't think the room is nearly the same as the Max.

Lexus are so boring, and on top of that, they dont sound very good. My frined has a GS350, ive been in it, I dont see why you would pay 650 a month for that when I pay 322 for a car with all the same features, plus the exhaust doesnt sound as good as the max does.

The ES350 is Camry based, and is not intended as a sporty sedan. Ultimate driver comfort is the target.

If you love a cushy freeway ride, and are not into sporty driving, the ES350 is a better choice than the Maxima.

And vice-versa.
