what went out? just the bulb? or the ballast? if it's just the bulb, i would get new bulbs and call it a day.

because of all the snow we had, my driver side hid on my fog is not working but my passenger side is. the ballast is bad. so when the weather gets better, i will just put a new ballast on

Nissan uses matsu$hita ballast from factory. Google and see what you come up with. Also ebay may have a few as well and some companies also make replicas that dont require butchering your wires. Its pretty weird how quickly your bulbs and ballast are going out though. They usually last 4+ years.

mine went bad due to water. the place i place the driver side ballast is not well protected and water can get to it when i wash my car but i am mounting the ballast where water cant reach it...

I'm not too familiar with the 7th gen, I deal only with my 4th gen, but have you tried theretrofitsource?
http://store.theretrofitsource.com
I've gotten two Philips 85122+ for under 100 brand new, and two ballasts for around 150ish.

The only issue i have with my after market bulbs i put in is after a few months when i turn them on now the driver bulbs seems to get brighter in stages versus the normal increase in light as it gets to optimal power. My hid guy just gives me new bulbs when this happens. They were cheap and he warrants them so no worrys.i do hear the stock ballasts from honda and nissan do have surging issues over years of use and eventually keep burning bulbs out when in fact the problem is the ballst itself and not the bulbs.

I have always wanted to try 5ks but they were so hard to find. Yea they are out there but they weren't as popular as 5ks and it seemed to have driven the price up some. That was a year ago though... I haven't searched recently.
