Thanks for the info. And the painters tape info...
Vinyl is definitely a better/safer bet when doing the window trim. You mentioned the Queens area, I have a guy in Great Neck. Called the Tint Shop. It's this Italian guy name Joe. He does some of the best tinting/vinyl/and custom decals/body art for cars that I have ever seen only involving Tints, Carbon Fiber Films, Vinyl, and much more.

I would recommend going to him for not only a great price, but also for the work that he loves to do. Tell him Chris the Italian guy (Silver Maxima) sent you. If you wanna see his work, just twitter; Paint Protect (The Tint Shop) or meet up and check my whip.

Thanks maximaguido, I'll def let you know when I'm going to do it. After talking about it I went to look at the trim and I noticed that the back driver door the trim was a little off, right around the curve of the door on top. I'm going to take it to the dealer as soon as I can and I don't want them saying anything. I will let you know.

I Finally got around to Plasti-dipping my front grille today. Man getting those last two clips off was pretty damn hard. You guys must have some small hands and forearms because I was ready to give up after ten minutes spent just trying to pop those last two clips. Thankfully I finally got it out. I just pray this stays chip free for a few years because i do not look forward to doing this again anytime soon.

Why didn't you mask off the area around the grill? Sounds like you made it into an all day project.

I used newspapers and blue painters tape and then some old sheets on the car and was done in an hour.

I thought about that but yesterday was pretty windy and I also didnt want to get it all over my radiator and the inside of the bumper.

All in all I am happy though. It looks ten times better.

Does anyone know how to remove the grille emblem without taking the entire grille off (7th gen)?

based on what I've read here, my hands are wayyy to large to reach those bottom clips.

Ok, so white on black SV grill now done up in Plasti-dip. Was a fun job. My hands were cut up trying to reach the lower clips, so I gave up and just unclipped the top so it hung forward a bit. This made the taping job much easier on 3/4th of the grille.

Lower intake was a bit more tricky pulling off the tape. Had to re-tape some spots and blast a thick patch coat, then pull away the tape while still wet.

Nicest $6 modification I thought possible. Half a can of the spray, half a roll of blue tape, but I splurged on the trigger handle for the spray can (another $5 )

Just ordered the Black Gloss Plastidip from the site..A bit expensive after shipping and tax, but I am going to do my whole lower bumper and trim it up. Then do the 2 mirrors maybe. If I like the Gloss look, I am going to redo my rims as well. Maybe my badges too. We shall see.

My question is, do I need the regular plasti dip then glossify it? It says on the site that I don't. If i do, then Its all good, Home Depot sells it!

As of last week, their site suggested using the black matte (same from Home Depot), and then the new glossy layer goes over that.

Thanks bro, I'll grab the matte from Home Dept!

and Nemo, can you send me a picture. I looked into that as well, but wasn't sure bc I like the glossy look.

I only bought 1 thing of gloss, 16 bucks..fml, but hopefully its enough!

I might do the Mirrors as well. I want the stillen front lip too. I have been modding my car out every week. I buy or do something new every week!

How about dipping the wheels, but leaving a rim on the stock wheels in the original silver? Anyone have thoughts. I looked at the stock 18" rims, but the taping would be a bear.

Instead of sanding and repainting oem mud guards, what are the thoughts on just plasti-dipping 'em?

Well I didn't paint then heavily. They come off easily if required. It messes up the paint inside the lug nut hole but that's not an issue its a quick fix.

Heres my recent project. Next up is the side chrome trim and then the door handles. Those are a pain in the *** to paint though have to take them off the car lol. Also the home depots next to my house keep running out of plasti dip the day they get a new shipment lol.
