Warning Lights Galore ! 2010 Max

So a few weeks back my ebrake light stays on, then the VDC and traction control lights come on after I start the car for about 20 minutes. I have all three lights lit up after I start the car. The dealer tells me that my rear brakes have almost nothing left after 20K miles, and I need new pads. I get the breaks done and about 1 week later, I have my dashboard lit up like xmas again.

Has anyone had any of these issues or know of the fix?

I think I recall reading about something like that on the board. I believe it was a case of low brake fluid. Check yours and top it off to Max line. I think there is a sensor in the brake fluid reservoir, that trips when the fluid is too low, disabling traction control and like.

Something not right here. My rear pads were worn very little when they were checked around 19K. Of course I use engine compression for much of my light braking.

Maxud is right that when the brake fluid gets low, the dash turns into Times Square on New Year's Eve.

My brakes are fine at 44k miles. Something's out of whack here. Search for Brake indicator and VDC light to see the threads on low brake fluid.

Never seen rear brakes wear down before the fronts, something's real odd there.

And at 20k, unless you're prone to ride on teh brakes a lot, you should see a lot more life left on them easily twice that...

As far as the lights, are you still under warrantee? Sounds like the dealership got it wrong the first time, take it back, and tell them to fix it under warrantee this time, and stop looking for wear and tear items to charge you for...

I've seen the rear brakes on these go long before the fronts, it's not very unusual. As stated before check the brake fluid, with it being low it can cause VDC/SLIP and BRAKE lights to be on the dash.

I'll concede that I don't know much about brake wear on a new Maxima. But in general automotive experience, I've never seen rear's go before fronts, when both linings were installed at the same time (factory).

I have a 2010 Maxima with the same problem, VDC, traction control, ebrake lights come on randomly. I'll have to check the brake fluid and report back here on my findings

Yes, my brake fluid level was a little bit low, so I filled to the line and warning lights are staying off.
