Opening the trunk lid

Hey everyone!

When you press the trunk release via the keyfob or inside the car, does your trunk only unlock but stay down? Or does the trunk fully open?
Mine stays down but my uncles Camry opens fully..

This would be a lot easier when carrying bags and opening the trunk..

Is there a way to do that? Maybe increase the strength of the gas struts?.. But that may make closing the trunk a bit more difficult...

Thx!

Nope just pops and stays down... Due to the design of it, putting stronger struts will make it harder to shut.

Yeah, just the way it is. I have popped the trunk by accident from the key fob and then driven off only to notice the warning light saying the trunk is open. Since it doesn't open up you'd never notice it visually.
