Intake comparisons?

So what's the best intake for 7th gens? I'm right about to buy one and just want to know I'm getting a good intake. I tried looking for a post about differences in intakes but stopped after 4 pages. Sorry to start again if there was a thread on this already.

Got a Stillen full cat back exhaust now, was leaning toward injen or takeda but just saw something on R2C(?). Just want good gains and sound along with the Stillen exhaust.

Thank you

i have Stillen..and its a quality product for sure! but the gains, if thats what you are looking for, are zero to none on any of the aftermarket intakes

if you want a short ram intake I think the Injen ones are some of the nicest, they use nice dry Amsoil filters which are really good. I owned both R2C and Takeda (almost no differences except appearance IMO) and got bored with both so made my own. it's a lot of work to relocate a battery just for an intake but I like it

Good point. If K&N did actually dyno this intake where are the torque numbers? Almost never see reported torque claims... Did the torque suffer and they decided not to report it?
With this car I would prefer an increase in torque over HP.

Yes, I couldn't find it either. I did have it installed on my 08 Accord Coupe v6, and it did go pretty quick after that.

I believe Injen is 11HP and 8 Torque. Which isn't terrible at all.

I think those numbers are highly overinflated if any gain, believable, I would say its around 1 hp...11 at the wheel seems way to much for a not even true cai

These "gains" the manufacturers are claiming are more than likely based on an Altima 3.5 with a 6MT.

Majority of these SRI intakes all have a major flaw: they don't fully box in the filter element, thus letting in hot engine bay air into the intake tract. "Sound" might be a key factor for some folks, but any gearhead knows that sound doesn't always equate to making hp.

Ghozt's true CAI setup is honestly the only way to go if you want actual gains and the coolest IAT's possible.

Cool. Keep us posted on your progress. The r2c intake seems to have the most robust shield if you want a good starting place. It also ties into the stock air inlet.

That's part of the reason I got the R2C... already modified the heat shield a bit, and have more plans for it in the next few months

That's exactly what I loved about it, the heat shield and did notice the duct for air inlet. Not just a intake that sits in engine bay with a small shield to suck in the engine heat. Also I'm pretty sure wrapping the ex. Manifold in exhaust wrap might help performance a tiny bit with keeping that temperature down (the hottest heat in engine bay)

But I'll definitely keep y'all updated, get Stillen front lip, side skirt and wing painted next week, debadging and might paint that license plate trim piece as well to body match it black

Darren Surratt, had an incredible gain by going with the 4 inch maf/intake setup on the same motor you have. I would look at going with something along those lines if you have ability to tune. I purchased a 3.5 intake from Knights_yyz (*ray) and he custom did the length for the RPM range i was looking to have a bump at.
