any way to disable the 15mph autolock?

i thought i found it, but it seems like the only thing you can change is if the car automatically unlocks or not once you shut it off. otherwise, as far as i can tell we are stuck with autolocking. i hate this feature and have disabled it in every car ive ever had. its just annoying.

I searched but didnt really come up with much. thanks guys.

EDIT: I found it in this PDF.

They actually dont mention it in the regular user manual, only the ignition autolock that i mentioned above. If you do the same procedure in the manual with the LOCK button, it disables the 15mph lock.

try this...

while car is on "ON" mode, hold down door lock switch to "lock" position for 5-10 secs... you will see your signal blinkers light up twice(?)..

not sure but that's what i tried quite a while ago....

I jump out of the car a lot when its running, like to get the mail or throw out the garbage, or even dropping someone off, and i just find it annoying, especially because years of having the opposite has made me used to it.

I totally understand. It annoys me when I am on my girl's car.

Agreed. Great safety feature. But I can see where folks who often drive alone might not like this feature.

But I love it. And I really appreciate that the doors do not automatically unlock when I shut off the car. When I'm stopping anywhere near Atlanta, I shut off the car, then look around carefully for several seconds before I dare even crack the driver's door, and absolutely do not want any of the other doors to automatically unlock.

Our other car is programmable to lock on shifting to Drive and unlock on shifting to Park which I think is the smartest combo. But can be set to not unlock on shift to Park, or neither lock/unlock.
