MAINTENANCE REQUIRED: OTHER

Hey guys,
I was driving in to work this morning when my little indicator popped on. It had a silhouette of a persons head right in the middle and it said "Other" right underneath it. Anyone ever had this issue before? Im taking it to my buddy the mechanic on Saturday but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

It's a setting for you as a reminder for other services like your 15k or 30k

you have to read the owners manual-there is a lot of great info in there that will help you from missing out on all the great features of our cars. You need to be familiar with the warnings and how to reset them as well or they will drive you nuts. No need to go to a friend or mechanic to check this out. Its simply a reminder that you the owner can set to remind you of when you need something done. Personally I set it for my in cabin air filter reminder at 15k miles

atlanta10 has let the cat out of the bag. If everyone here had read the Owner's Manual carefully from cover to cover, then we wouldn't have much of a board here. Everyone would already know the answer to most of their questions.

Thankfully, the Owners Manual is very thick and intimidating, and few folks take the time to read it. So that gives us a large base of uninformed folks with which to keep this board humming.

Light is right. Even though I can't read a manual cover to cover within even a few weeks I still have it around and will slowly work my way throught it.
It answered my CEL issue for the time I didn't get the gas cap all the way tight.
Most answeres are there, you just have to look.

This "other" function is for your to program your own reminder. I use it for the Engine Air Filter...

See thats the problem. I wasnt the one who set it so when it went off it threw me for a loop because I had just changed the oil the week before. I thought it was a warning like low tire pressure or something. My mechanic is the one who had set it. Thanks though.

If it's available. I like to read the owner's manual before I even buy a car. Then I don't have to depend on the dealer to tell me correct or incorrect info.
