Investing in a good DA polisher will make it easier.

Committed you say? Well, I currently have an 07 Charger that still looks like she was new and most everyone I know already says I need to be somewhat committed due to how meticulous I am about maintaining vehicles.

Dude... you're not exclusive to retards. They live EVERYWHERE! If/when I purchased a Maxima, I'll post pics. I'm not a "newbie" for forums in general, just on this one... I know the rules... new car = must post pics. LOL

Thanks Timmy.... I hope I'm making the right decision. It's been a hard one ever sincve my Charger got hit. 106K miles and the only issue with her is the metal block I have about her being wrecked. About to leave for the Nissan dealership.

OK guys and gals... From what I've read and heard, the Crimson Black color is not necessarily a limited production run but it does seem that a limited number are produced in relation to all other Maxima colors. Does anyone have any information on this?

This is my 2nd car with PPF, and we also have it on the wife's truck - so I am sold.

Think I paid $600-700 for PPF and window tint combination.

Just bought a 2011 Maxima Sport in Crimson Black. Will post pics shortly!

What % tint did you guys all put on your max? I am trying to decide how dark to go with it.

My 2013 Crimson seems to scratch the clear coat very easy. Big mistake taking it through even a touchless car wash

Any special kind of wax working better on removing the scratches ?

Thanks

I used Meguiars Ultimate Compound on my Charger and it worked quite well. She was 6 yrs old when I traded her and people still thought she was new.

A DA polisher and the correct cutting pad will work wonders.

I have the Meguiars DA and it has worked well so far. I think the cutting pad is the 6.5'' #W7006.
You will also need the compound. I had been using the polish but just bought the "Ultimate Compound" which I haven't used yet.

This takes the intense labor out of doing it by hand. It's a night and day difference once it's finished and waxed.
For me it was one of the best investments I've made for this car.

Well, I'm not really getting the scratches you are talking about on my Maxima. After several years, you do get scratches on any vehicle. I used my DA and he Meguiars Ultimate Compound and she looked good as new.

I'm in Minnesota and it's still winter here, longest winter since I moved here in 2005 by far as I'm in Southern MN

Anyway I ran it through a touchless car wash and after I noticed the scuffs, scratches. They are coming out as I hit them as I see them and was away last week.

I NEVER use car washes but my last car ( Infiniti) started to rust out here so I was afraid to leave the salt on it long.

I have to find one of those bays where I can spray it down myself during the winter

I used to use Zymol, talk about labor intensive with that pre cleaner that they recommended you apply with your fingers, long time ago

I'd be afraid to hit this color with any sort of compound unless I had no other choice

Is this a decent DA or do I need the pro model...........Thanks

It's expensive but I purchased the professional. I don't have any experience with the other models. You may want to read the reviews for the other models and then decide. There are also other brands out there that are probably comparable to the Meguiars Pro.

The compound that Meguiars sells is made for surface swirls/small scratches.
Remember it's the clear coat that is being hit and not the base color.

If you think it's worth it I'll buy the pro, is this it, price decent ? Thanks
