Yes but it wasn't coarse enough to get the swirls out without alot of work even with the DA.
If you use the ultimate compound just go easy over a small area and then wipe it off to get the feel for how it's working.
Follow up with the polish if you have to. Then a wax or sealant.
The internet is your friend for info on a alot of this.

I'm going to get the Maguire's Ultimate Compound . Hopefully it works on the small clear coat scratches . From what I read the compound is supposed to be followed by SwirlX and /or Ultimate polish. Does this sound correct ?
I'm afraid to hot this color with any wheel and I'm sticking to spray wax if I can to avoid the swirl marks
The only thing I hate is the damn clear coat, may consider having it done professionally once a year. Besides the small scratches keeping it clean isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be

So far I love the ultimate compound with the red cutting pad. I removed every swirl mark except a couple of deeper scratches from my hood using this stuff. A little more work and the larger scratches will be gone as well.
I suppose the best outcome would be using the polish and then do the final wax.
For me this process takes awhile (even with the DA) so I work one section of the car at a time.

I have this wax, I'm thinking it should be fine after the compound, any thoughts ?
I am working on 2 very small areas in the clear coat

Ok, McGuire's worked good. I can't seen the clear coat scratches when I look straight on into the paint but I can see them on an angle
I buffed it by hand, do you think the DA would make it so you can't see the scratches on an angle ?
Thanks

Yeah I got the the strut brace, bat tie down, and grill powder coated the same color. Trying to make my stuff different. just like the most of the dudes on the org. Getting down to the details, or at least trying too...
