could be the CVT belt that you're hearing... how many miles are on your MAX?

Whatever it is it doesn't sound normal...is it similar to that old winding noise like when (on your old car) your power steering is telling you it needs help in turning the wheels? Doesn't sound like a possible loose belt does it?
As mentioned...since it's still under warranty just have your dealer fix it.

Thanks for your post as you have my curiosity up!
Make sure the tech drives your car so he can hear or feel what you are describing.
Should be no reason why they can't resolve this.
If it is fixed, please share with us what it was they actually did and get copies of all repair work if you can.
My 2010SV is at 19K now and had a valve body R&R @15K but not for that same issue.
I'm kinda in a love/hate relationship with this tranny as it still does strange things under certain driving situations.

I have seen all kinds of things get caught or lodged in weird places on a car.
Especially in and around the the front end, tires, suspension, brakes and such.
Many will cause noises that are not at all normal but will make you suspect something serious is up.
Some are minor and will just go away on there own. Let's hope it's all that and nothing more.

I have a similar noise on acceleration (it only happens a few times a week) not every time. It's like buzzing/whining noise. I have 90k but am probably going to take it in to check it out. It's not possible to reproduce on command, so it might be difficult to diagnose.
