Angry Malfunctiioned TPS?

The tire pressure sensor, light, blinks for a min, then stays on once the car is started. the manual says to take to the dealership, Has anyone determined what was wrong with it or if it can be reset or something??

What model year to you have?
For the earlier model years it was one light for all tires, so it may be that your tires just need air, but for the later model years, it was individual tires displayed on the dash.

The order of the numbers do not mean a thing since I assume that it was the order of the sensors that were registered to the vehicle, so any tire rotations or order of installation would place them in different positions on the dash.

I am rushing before my college classes, but post back with some more information.

Its an 09. I know what the light means; it means the sensor system is malfunctioned. Just wondering of anyone had this problem.

Just to be sure we are interpreting the light correctly, I would run the psi up to 36 psi or so, and drive the car for a dozen or do miles. This won't hurt anything, as I have carried 37 front and 35 rear for the last three Maxima generations.

If the light is still on after running with 36 or so psi for a dozen miles, then your astute analysis is probably correct - the TPMS has failed, and your dealer will have to figure out what is broken. It may be that a sensor in one of the tires has failed. I understand that damage to the valve stem can do this.

My '09 has the same problem. It happened after a road hazard blown out one of the tires. Ever since replacing the tire the light stays on. I believe the sernsor for that tire is damaged by the incident or the tire shop tech when he transfer the sernsor to the replacement tire. Going to find out next stop at Nissan. Hope it would cost less then $100 to fix it as others suggested.

My 09 had the same problem. I took it to the dealer and the reset them for me and no other issues 2 weeks later. They were nice enough not to charge me either.
