Humm, I'm pretty sure your car already have factory HID's?

If so all you have to do is purchase a good set of Philips (for exp DS2) hid bulbs, install them yourself.

The car does have projector housing but only halogen bulbs, that's why I'm thinking a nice bright halogen might look nice w the projector housing

Congrats on getting the Maxima man. You'll enjoy it. You might as well buy your own HID kit and install it yourself. Here's a few websites that you can get your HID's from.

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/pro...oducts_id=3955 <---- Recommended

http://www.blindinghid.com/b.php?bulb=H11

Or you can get it here. AWESOME prices but you'll have to be patient and wait about 2 weeks since they ship out from China.

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

I've had my 1st HID kit installed by Mobile sounds in Ramsey nj and they did a ****ttttyyy job and both ballast they gave me went out so fast so I took it to my own hands, bought a good HID kit online and installed it myself. Since then, nobody touches my car for mods unless it's hard for me to do like installing Eibach springs. I don't have the proper equipment for that.

BTW when I had the HID's installed by them, they charged me $155 total. That price they gave you is a big jump from last year.

Pick up a set of HID headlights and swap them out. You'll be much happier than putting in PnP kits.

SVs have HIDs all you have to do is replace the bulbs to the color you want.

Thanx for the replies everybody. Got a kit installed, 6000K, ****in LOVE them. They wound up charging me 200$ and 200$ for a remote start. I got 50% tint all around just for a slight touch if class. NJ cops can get serious about tints.

My next question is how do I get the rims to poke out a little or at least sit flush with fender? My boy has 20" rims on his infinity G35, 20x10 in the back, 20x8 in the front. Will they fit my 2012???

Prepare for a possible ticket in Texas for drop ins. You really should have retroed or projector it somehow, IMO.
Bad glare.
I got a ticket in Texas for my 6000k drop ins. Saving for a retro kit now.
I liked mine too, but I hate getting pulled over.

All 7th gens have projectors, the glare look is just from the camera. Our cutoff stays low enough to not beam into oncoming traffic.

The only possible way you could get pulled over and harrassed would be for having anything over 8000k, strictly because of the output color. Some cops can be ****s if they have nothing better to do.

^^they told me it was due to the blue color. I'm from Kansas, so I asked if HIDs are illegal in Texas.
Cop said all HIDs are illegal in Texas. I was pretty sure he was bsing at the point.

Technically they are right. Any aftermarket lighting that puts out a blue or red light on the outside of the vehicle is illegal. Stock HID's are legal, Plug n Play kits are illegal. If done right, you will not get harrased.

Anything 8000k and above puts out a blue - purple/pink light. If you stay within the 4300k - 6000k limit you shouldn't get bothered. Unless your HID's bulbs are not blocked by a halogen housing or projector. Then this is a good way to blind oncoming traffic.
