VDC Light

Anyone else have an issue with the VDC Light coming on? This started about a week ago on my 09 Max. The light came on while driving. I tried the off/on button to no avail. Then, I turned the engine off and the light did not come back on. It's been fine until today. Again, while driving, the light comes on again. After turning the engine off again and restarting, it was off, but came on again about 5 or 6 miles down the road. Anyone have a problem like this? The car has around 68K on it. I bought it new, and doesn't have any upgrades like different tires, brakes, etc. I guess it's a malfunctioning sensor. Any thoughts??

Topping off the brake fluid has doused this light for almost everyone here who did it. If topping off did not keep your light off for at least 10K, then you may well have a leak in your brake system, or some other kind of brake problem.

Check the fluid level in your brake fluid reservoir. If it is at the full mark, you have a problem, either with the brake system or the VDC system. If the fluid level is not at the full mark, then add fluid. If the level drops again in less than 10K miles, you have a leak in your brake system.

Just to update..... the brake fluid level was down to just barely above the MIN level. I topped it off, and so far, no VDC light. I will have to keep an eye on my brake pads since they are the original ones and I have over 67K on them. I guess I also will have to remind myself to remove a little fluid before I compress the calipers for new pads. Thanks to all for the help.
