High pitched Intake

So I've recently changed my air filter, and I'm not gonna like I bought a purolator $10 for the Time being, I was broke lol. Anyways a few weeks after I've noticed a high pitched sound when i really give it gas. What could this be!? Is it becaus of a cheap filter? Or something else? I've included a video. Thanks, u can hear it as soon as i pass 65mph...

What the??????? Well that doesn't sound good or right either
But never heard of this problem before. This is the 1st time..... Maybe you can check all the bolts if they are tight and nothing is hitting the intake or metal on metal contact???

I have a feeling I didn't bolt the bottom in correctly, and it's causing air to be sucked from the bottom of the intake box.

I recommend dissembling the intake system. Clean everything, check all bolts, etc. Then, reassemble the intake system and see if any problems come up again. If so..then it might be a defect.

I feel you dude. To be honest, once you start adding modifications to any car..nothing ever is normal anymore. You are always taking a chance of messing something up. I think every car I have modded (Only 2)..Something always goes wrong..be it a HID Ballast goes out or the Strut bar is making a creaking noise. Have to love mods!

I would recommend the K&N Air Filter..its 40 Bucks Less the discount they give you. Hell, if you can't afford it I'll throw you half lol. Can't have a car sounding like that bro. Yeah just snug it..check it out in the morning and let me know whats the issue.

Ok so I fixed it, turns out it wasn't bolted snug , but this purolator air filter sucks because the filter has fitment issues it doesn't fall in properly I had to force it to clam down. So, lesson learned stock to oem air filter because of fitment reasons, or k&n. the sound was hissing when I accelerated because air was leaking into the air filter from he back. Hope this helps others

i disagree. if the mods weren't done right then yes, but you shouldn't have constant problems after modding your car. look at my list of mods, the only issues ive had are the same occasional factory issues other people without mods have had...

now if you're talking about a fully-built motor and all that? yeah my friends with project cars always have problems.

Even if mods are done right at times, things could always go wrong. I never stated constant problems, but there is also a chance of having a risk of facing problems when buying aftermarket. Yes, even fully-built motors and DIYs tend to have problems as well.

Oh and Pep..I am glad you figured out the problem and fixed it. You even said it was the bolt and look at you..you were right! Great stuff!

Glad you found the problem, cuz that sounded like crap. Sounded like the filter itself was vibrating from the airbox not being closed fully.
