i bought a 2012 maxima s limited edition in October, i have loved everything about the car and had no problems. in late december i started feeling something in the gas pedal and hearing a noise when i hit 30 mph, and the noise and feel in the pedal have gotten worse over time. i took the car into the dealership today and they claimed its the ABS system doing a self check and its normal. i am confused on why im just now hearing and feeling this happing to the car and i am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or has had the problem fixed on their maxima.

 

Yeah normal but I tend to hear mine do it around 15mph the first time I hit it then it doesn't do it again until the at is turned off

 

Mine does this just below 20 MPH, and has done this for over four years. I researched it four years ago, and the Nissan tech my dealer called said it was the ABS system checking itself.

 

Right around 20mph for me as well. My 03 used to perform this function if you moved the car a certain (very short) distance.

 

Strange but good to know.
