Connecting an Android via Stereo Controls on Maxima

I am driving a 2009 Nissan Maxima. Int he center console there are three A/V inputs inside in addition to the adapter which connects to the iPod to control the stereo. (no idea the actual name)

This works with an ipod, is there an adapter for this to work with an Android? having issues locating this because I am going to be switching over and I really enjoy this feature.

I'm not too sure about the connections for the Nav system, but if it's just usb, then you can use your USB cable and put your phone in mass storage mode. Otherwise if you use the aux jacks then you should purchase this.

I have the non Nav radio so my aux jack is on the front of the radio controls, so I'm not 100%, but I tried lol.

I don't have aux jacks or a usb cable. I have the proprietary nissan time connector which lets you control the music from the dashboard.

My 3 a/v inputs are the yellow white red inputs..

Milligan if you have the non-nav color screen then you should get the y cable as escblads suggested. that is what I had to do but keep in mind that you still cannot control the music from the dash or steering wheel. I haven't tried connecting my android phone via usb cable and starring mass storage but I will try that today. most vehicles integrate iPhone seamlessly but android is a different story. I don't have Bluetooth streaming audio so I am uncertain if that is integrated to work with dash controls.

So is anyone able to control android phones with the stereo controls???... I know all the GM cars have a vista mode where you can do this with android phones. If anyone was able to do this please post your vehicle year and what packages you have.

I have a galaxy s4 and use the blackberry bluetooth gateway adapter hooked up through the av inputs then powered through cigarette lighter usb. You have to control it from the phone however.

Blackberry Gateway and the AUX to dual inputs will work for non-nav screens. If you have NAV then you can simply use bluetooth wireless streaming which does use the steering wheel controls to controls track changing. I do hope that 8th gen incorporates Bluetooth wireless streaming into all the Maximas. I have the non-NAV and use the audio cables in the center console. The USB connector will not work Androids (I've tried it.) It only works for iPhone.

Does that cable in above post also charge the phone?
This is disappointing that the Maxima don't have the streaming audio the new Altimas do

Did your car come with Bluetooth, because you could connect via Bluetooth and listen to it like that, when your syncing your phone with your car, it gives you the option of either to be used for the hands-free phone or as a audio player, i currently have mine to work as both, very convenient

do you have the one with navigation, if you do, then all you do is make sure your bluetooth is on on your phone and then in your car go to settings, bluetooth, and connect bluetooth device, after you press that it will give you the option for hands free or for audio, choose audio and then its straight foward from there

Just found a great solution for connecting an android to stream audio via Bluetooth. It's made by HTC and is the size of a USB drive.

Unfortunately the 2014 Maximas don't have an AUX port.

Does anyone know how to stream audio with an Android in the new Maximas? Id like to only plug the phone into one port. Rather than have to use a charger and a wire out of the headphone jack.

Help! Android Galaxy won't play music.

Frustrating. .I have a 2012 Maxima Non Navi system.
I read all the replies and tried hooking up my android phone to play music but it won't connect. I tried USB, tried the 3 video color jacks, and Bluetooth does not give me the option for audio. I can answer /receive calls through the car but will not stream music. My car will only play my old ipod. I have the non navi screen, but no Bluetooth option under settings. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Within the android blue tooth settings you have to enable your device as a phone AND audio device, I know when I initially set up my s4, s5, and now note4 I had to constantly mess with the connection and forget the Bluetooth connection because it would only connect as a phone, if I remember correctly long press the Bluetooth connection to force audio into the Bluetooth connection. Beyond Bluetooth my Droids never showed up with a USB wired connection.

In its current state I get full control of my phones audio/media using my cars controls

Make sure sd as mass store device is checked on your phone if you are using usb, if using the three audio video jacks, make sure that you have disconnected the USB when using them, they override sound on the composite connections.
