Love the color on the job man! I like that it is something different than what we normally see on here as well.

I hate to break it to you, but you aren't the "1st wrapped 7thgen". There is another guy that goes by FreshMaxima on my7thgen, that is on air, VIP modulars and a matte white vinyl job. Has had the job done for almost 3 months now.

I am still diggin the blue on yours though, and as long as you are happy with the look of your car that's all that really matter man. Everyone would have something different to someone else's car, but that is the whole point of everyone having their own opinions and tastes when it comes to mods.

We must be talking about different things here.

I'm thinking all painted surfaces.

Full trim, windows, lenses, emblems, handles, etc removed. Engine bay, door jambs, and trunk, etc.

Not a pay and spray.

I'll call the guy who does my work and ask him how much a (full) color change on a 7th Gen Maxima would run someone.

A full color change is stupidly expensive as you have to pull the motor etc. No one does full color changes unless they are doing a resto or have more $ than brains from my experience.

If you want to do a color change you should have bought the car with the right color from the beginning. That being said why anyone would want a 4 door family sedan to be bright blue is beyond my understanding.

I still think a wrap for $2,800 is very expensive from my experience.

Just got off the phone, $4000-5000 to re-paint my car with KH3 (current color). Does not include engine bay but would include door jambs.

Agreed that repainting our cars a different color is ridiculous. In fact, he laughed when I asked about a color change.

I have no idea how much a vinyl wrap costs (or should cost), no experience with that.

Personally, I think the blue wrap came out pretty good. I wouldn't do it to my car, but I don't need that kind of attention.

Definitely a one of kind car, though.

The more we modify the further we get.....

My 69 camaro frame off resto paint is running me 6K on the cheap end. Materials alone are 2,500 . Keep in mind the car is a shell already and this is only paint & prep no body work. a full color change with Jams and engine bay would run 4 to 5 k with inexpensive paint on a Maxima all day long via American workforce. Ive been all around the world and the US and cant say ive seen it all. But I have seen there are some regions that pay workers less $ and in those areas I have seen a 3k full color change paint job. I had a fully color candy paint job done in mexico on a 1969 fastback for 2K. It looked super nice for the first year. Then the bad prep started showing its face....I know there are talented people in those areas who can produce killer paint jobs for cheap $. Those are also the people who are up to snuff with chemical compounds , adhesion promotion and quality work that lasts. So without talking more about paint.. Yes a 3K color change is possible but it would probably last as long as that wrap guaranteed.

As for the wrap: it looks badass and mad props to modifications on the Maxima..

My question with the full wrap is. If u get pulled over ur registration doesn't match ur car now if u wrap the car a diff color. I would think you would be hassled by police in that case. ???

can you post a pic of the edge of the doors in the jamb area where the vinyl ends? I'm just curious on the line when the doors are open.

Your plates & VIN still match the registration so no big deal -- tell them you recently changed the car's color

I voted yours for MOTM in the Facebook group. I'm gonna like it even more when those 22's get swapped out. Whatever wheels you like best, of course, but I'm stoked for you to get the vossens. Gonna look so freakin good.

That color is sick, I actually saw this car in a google search looking for ideas. I love the black between the upper and lower grill, thinking bout doing something similar.

BUT since I don't have $2800 to spend on wrap, hell spend on anything right now lmao, I think my roommates and I are gonna experiment with the Plastidip method. Fully Plasti-Dipped 7th Gen, get ready! Lol. Think to do the whole car it'll come out to like $200-$300, with the spray gun and dip.

I judge every book by its cover. I'm always prepared and eager to have my opinions changed if initially my judgment was wrong. And if it turns out I love the book, I'll still tell the author that the book's cover is silly.
