How to cancel/bypass the amber turn signal light?

Well, i tried to search but I guess i'm too noobish to find an answer for this one.

After succeeding in making my genuine DRL super bright at nighttime, i noticed that the amber light just doesn't fit between the HID / LED combination.

Has anyone tried to disable the "always on" orange/amber light to make it only work when i indicate??

Thanks guys!

That is how a "switchback" DRL system works. The only time you see the amber light functioning is during turn signal operation. That works from one LED light source so I'm not sure how that could help with your issue.

I think i wasnt being clear. I dont want the amber light to light at any time except the time when I am indicating. It stays on the entire time and I'd like to cancel that.. I'll post a pic of what i want within few mins

See now when you just switch on the park lights, like this...

This happens, the amber light turns on, and i want to disable it so i can let the LED lights only work. The amber color is just not that nice along with the LED

I think the YouTube video pretty much says it all.
With the VLED Triton's the amber does not come on at all until you either use the turn signal or emergency flashers. There's a special module that makes it function this way.

Also I know exactly what you mean. Whom ever hooked up your DRL's tapped into your the parking light wires, plain and simple.
You can't simply disable the parking lights without disabling the turn signals!
Others here may know of a way to do this though.....

Sorry mate I didnt mean to sound mean or so..
The DRLs are connected directly to the ignition/battery, they're on all the time, whether the light lever is off, parking lights, or on.

Now with VLED can I disable the parking lights? Isn't there anyway I can get to the wires so I can play around with them??

You need to cut one of the 3 wires for that bulb. Other members here have done it.

Snip off one of the wires on the bulb, I've done this before I upgraded to my led turn signals...3157 was the bulb for the turn signal... I cut off one of the wires, so the turning signal only lit up whenever I turned on the signal indicator to change lanes..then it went back to the off postion

No worries Rafik. I see now what was done, I didn't want to suggest something I hadn't personally done before.
Good input from MIA and Envy as they have been down this road before.

One is ground, one is intermittent (turn), one is for the parking lights (on). You need to get a tester. There is another thread where they specify the color of the wire.

The actual wire on the bulb... Not housing, I clipped off the outer most one, just pry it apart from the bulb and clip off...it's really easy, I had extra bulbs laying around just incase I f'ed it up...I've done this with my previous ride (Charger) and with the max when I installed my HIDs

Awesome stuff, where do I access it?

My guess would be, turn the steering wheel, open the wheel cover, and reach out for the bulb? right?

What cable color am I looking for?

it'd be a lot easier to just throw a switchback bulb in there.

Instructions: Like mentioned earlier, To access the left light, turn the steering right, and remove the protective panel above the tire. Stretch your hand inside for the cables. There are two amber light bulbs in our headlight, the outer bulb should be disconnected permanently. The big amber bulb (inner one) has three cables (green, green, black). One of the greens needs to be cut, make sure you have a tester so you'll know exactly which one to cut. Same procedure goes to the other side.

Couple of low exposure shots so you guys can see how mean the car is now

Hey ghozt, I'm thinking of purchasing the v-LEDs 6k switchback. I don't know which resistors I need and where in to install them. Do u have any idea how to do so?

Also, MIA_SHIFT, any info or pics on what wire to snip on the bulb itself?,

I have their switchbacks on my 09 SV and I love them!! The kit is all inclusive and there is no need to buy anything additional (ie. resistors) I have a quick video of them on YouTube if you want to see what they look like on our car.

They come like that in Dubai and Canada I believe. It's not an option in the US unless you go the custom route.

Notice they also have sonar too!? Hate the fact that US doesn't have that stock on 7th when it was on 6th gen.

You're correct. Nissans logic is very sully. I'd be interested in hearing from them on why they didn't include that as an option on the 7thgen.
