Any ideas on removing the governor? Opinions, thoughts?

Why would you want to do that. It would void your warranty and make it easier for you to destroy your engine.

I wouldn't say regularly but I've hit 140 before and ever since then when I really want to go over 100 the rpms don't go past 4k and the the car won't go past 100mph.

And the car would start shifting at lower rpms automatically no matter what mode I'm in

You have a problem somewhere else.

I was told that a tranny fluid flush would help or solve the problem. But I'm not sure, any ideas?

Never do a transmission fluid flush unless you want to get in an argument with Nissan about who is going to pay for your replacement transmission. You can do a drain/fill which is recommended to be replaced dependent on how hard you drive - I did mine at 40k.

The 4k RPMs limit is your transmission going into limp mode from being too hot - I've hit that too. Aside from an aftermarket transmission cooler, which currently doesn't exist as a kit and would need to be custom built, I don't think you're going to find any way to get the CVT to run any cooler. Just have to lay off the gas for a while until it cools down.

From the description of how you like to drive, you might have bought the wrong car - you'd be much happier with a Z and regular transmission.
