Is that just the front lip? Why not the whole kit?

I feel that the car doesn't need the whole kit just the front lip

I so agree. I think the sides and the rear are not aggressive enough.

Also I was trying to figure out what to use to get rid of the amber glow when the headlights are off. Switchback bulbs I didn't want cause imo they change the look of the headlights too much and blur out the projector. I also didn't think spending $60+ on led 3457 and 194 bulbs was a smart choice.

So I'm going to see of this works. I bought this paint that's supposed to be used on the taillights. It is rated for up to 200 degrees. I hope the bulbs don't get hotter than that.

Here's a couple pics of my progress. Just waiting on the fog lights so I can do it all at once.

These came in last night so I'll be installing them in the fogs and swapping out the amber bulbs.

Also at 1000 miles I'll be switching to synthetic oil and a premium oil filter.

Got my hid fog lights in. Also the painted bulbs. Ended up being too dim. I covered them to much with the silver paint.
So I took another set of 3457a Ambers and just lightly dusted them silver. Works great and there's no longer an amber glow from my headlights during the day.
I also out a clear 194 bulb in the side markers and just unplugged the harness. Looks good and was a cheap mod.

Now I will say that the HIDs look great but 5000k fogs do not match our factory hids as some on here said.
Now that the fogs are super white with a hint of blue the headlights look white with a hint of yellow.
So I'll be buying some 5000k headlight bulbs soon.

Anyone recommend a place or brand?

Pics will be posted as soon as I clean up the car. Snowed 8" in the last 2 days.

our factory HIDs are 4300k. that being said its kinda difficult to match bulb temperatures from diff companies. only surefire way is to order new bulbs for both fogs + low beams from the same manufacturer

Can I buy 55w bulbs for the low beams or is the factory ballast what regulates that?

I read the 55w bulbs wash out some of the color I was thinking if doing 6000k 55w.

What do you guys think?

Just got a great deal on 370z Sport rims. Gonna have the powder coated a metallic anthracite color.
Looks like I'll need a 10mm spacer as well for the fronts to sit flush. At least that's what I've read here. And longer studs I assume.

nice man, congrats. saw the video or the pics of you putting in work right when you got it, good stuff! looking forward to seeing pics when mounted! please post fogs too!

dropping off my 19" OEM sport pkg wheels to get powder coated on monday as I really like the rays but still have the 19 OEM wheels from my old '09 SV that I may as well use as winter wheels now

gotta make my mind up quick for either anthracite metallic finish to match metallic slate exterior for monochromatic look or to go matte black & paint center caps matte black also b/c thats such a good finish too

haha 1st world problems, anyway congrats again on mods!!

Measured and weighed the forged 370z Sport rims.

Front rim 19x9 weighed 21 lbs.

Rear rim 19x10 weighed 25 lbs.

I used a regular scale so it may be off a pound either way.

Set them on my 93 Cobra to check it out.

Well after buying 2 sets of HID fogs trying to match our factory headlights (5000k then 4300k) with both being too blue. I've ordered a set of 3000k fog bulbs. I've done this combo on many cars and always liked the look. They'll be here soon and I'll snap a pic.

3000k will look even better once you have independent control over the fogs

Update on my junk Xenon HIDs from EBay.
Went through 3 ballast and 3 sets of bulbs all with issues.
So I ordered these for cheap. Had them on my Srt8 300 and they matched the factory Hids perfect, but it was probably a different company.

Check out this item I found on eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?n...d=360817119476

Just ordered H&R lowering Springs for the 4th gen Altima v6.

H&R springs are normally a lower stance than Eibachs. Plus with the Maxima being 250# heavier it should sit good. We will see....

Just installed 20mm spacers on the front and it's gonna be perfect once it's Lowered.
H&R springs are scheduled to be delivered end of next week. Pics to follow...

Well the regular halogen 55w ultra white bulbs I got from link above turned out to be very dim (compared to the HIDs). So got my money back.
My fog light HIDs are working great except on side looks kinda pinkish and one side matches the headlights. So gonna swap bulbs and see if it's the ballast or bulb.

I have used those ebay hid kits before and they are awful. I used 5000k in heads and fogs from KB carstuff.com. Awesome high quality product. You will spend a bit more on them but you won't have to be changing bulbs and ballasts all the time. Absolute pure white light too.

Thanks for the suggestion on KB, I've done some research on KB Carstuff and am going to go that route for both heads, fogs 5000k. I called them last week.

Also these showed up today. If I feel better tomorrow after work I'll be installing them. Hoping for a 2" drop after they settle. H&R says they drop the Alti 1.75" so this car is 250# heavier.

I'm curious about the springs being the same. I'm sure you've done your research, can you post pictures of the springs side by side?

Front sits about 1/4" too low for my taste. Gonna put a 5/8" heater hose on bottom an top coils (like an isolator) and it should raise it 1/4". I'll get better pics when I clean the car.

Here's my alignment specs. Before was waaaay out.

It's set up perfectly IMO for handling. Had to keep the back at 2.0 camber so the rears didn't poke. Also that's all we could get on the factory adjustment.
The front I got camber bolts for.

This is a quick pic I took to show the car lowered on H&R springs (Altima 4th gen)
It lowered it about 2.75" front and 2.5" rear. Rides surprisingly nice (not like a brick at all). I trimmed the front bump stops. It does not bottom out and I shouldn't have any issues with the stock struts.

Super happy I went with the Alti springs. Looks like it's on coilovers. I'll get better pics when I clean it up and it's nice outside.

Also installed another set of HID fogs. Went with Maxlux 5k. Very happy with them so far. They match perfectly to the factory Hids and the whole kit was very good quality. Highly recommend them.

really nice man, was wondering how those H&R springs fit the ride. So did you end up making any adjustments on the springs? but yeah man told you you'd love the Maxlux kit.

Yes I had to do the hose trick. Basically took a 5/8" heater hose and wrapped the upper coils. It acts as an isolator and also raised the front 1/4" and I cut 3/4 of a coil from the top rear coil. The top coils are called "dead" coils and have no effect on the spring rate.
I could have just left it but Im **** with my cars and wanted the stance perfect.

The ride is a little firmer but nothing like most lowered cars I've had.

Agh man! I really wanted to go this route but it seems like a lot of work/hassle this way. Guess I'll have to go with the stupid eibachs lol

Looks really good.
Still wonder why Eibach couldn't figure out the front drop on the 7th gen which looks too high relative to the rear, at least on mine.
We've all seen the infamous a$$-end stock spring squat Nissan's get.

Thanks man. I'm really happy with the car. Love the look of the 7th gen and the interior is top notch. Love the seating position.

I'll get some more pics up when the weather gets nicer.

Next up is having my Stillen lip Painted and blacking out the bottom grille. Then some exhaust mods.

Racer, do you have any pics of the fogs. Also, did you order H&R altima springs for your max? Wanna get them too, just want to make sure I got it right. Thanks

Ordered a Racingline Y-pipe and rear sway bar today.

Wish I would have gone with a 275/35 tire in the rear and rolled the fenders.

Nice, I ordered them together too back in late December. You will need the endlinks since your car is lowered because the stock ones will not be able to support the tighter bar and the drop.

Your car looks great though man! One thing I did notice about the lighter colored 7th gen maxs is that they look a lot better with the chrome blacked out. Maybe it's because the chrome doesn't stick out as much as it does on the darker ones.

That's actually the problem I'm facing with my wheels now too because I have the 2012 sport wheels in hyper silver and idk if I want to get them painted in the darker color Nissan sells them in or just get them chrome painted.

Are you sure I need the end links? I'm gonna try it with the stock ones first. I'll be setting the bar on the softer of the 2 settings. Which Racingline says is still firmer than the Stillen bar.

Are you saying you like the chrome better on the darker cars? I'm actually starting to like the chrome with the brighter rims on my car.

Well I've read on multiple of these forums that when you lower your car the upgrades endlinks are highly recommended but you can try it and see how it works out.

But yes on the darker car it seems to pop out a lot more to me! It's just a personal preference though

You'll notice the difference with end links. I know did; I got my RSB and front end links in one shipment, put 'em on, drove it for a bit and then got the rears in a 2nd shipment, put 'em on and immediately noticed a difference when I was zip, zip, zippin' off of an on-ramp to the highway.

The dude Joe from Racingline sent me an email apologizing and I felt bad for putting him on blast for a bit there, but, I mean, a little heads-up can go a long way. I'll do business with them again because at the end of the day it's an extremely quality product.
