Insdie trunk release
#3
I have a feeling that this solution is invalid.
Unless I am misunderstanding the purpose and how that switch works, then here is my reason:
When using valet parking, valuables and other items that may not want to be seen and easily accessible are to placed in the trunk and the switch moved to "OFF". After turning off the switch, the glove box should now be locked with the physical key so that trunk access is completely inhibited until proper access is gained and the switch is reactivated. Otherwise, anyone could still use the intelligent key (key button and trunk button) to open the trunk rendering the glove box switch useless. Thus, I have a feeling that something else is wrong here and not the switch in the glove box.

You are correct in that when the switch in the glove box is turned off then the trunk lid openers, keyfob, dashboard switch and trunk lid stitch are all disabled, thereby locking the trunk from any access. Since you can access the trunk lid from the fob and the trunk lid with the glove box switch on then the switch on the dash board is probably defective.
