trunk will not open!!!! HELP

Hey everyone so today my trunk was working as normal, i went into it like 3x then i went to go open it again and it wont open!!! WTH! it wont open with the key fob or the inside trunk release button. The valet switch is not flipped. my glovebox has been locked for the last 3 weeks and the trunk has been working fine. When i hit the release you usually hear the actuator or release actually clicking. Now i hear nothing. I climbed in the trunk through the back seats and used the manual release cable for the time being. Does anyone know what could be going on? Im thinking maybe a fuse or the actuator going bad? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated! THANKS

Trunk not opening

The actuator on the trunk latch burns out. The way to troubleshoot this is with a multimeter and a friend. Take off back plastic pieces to expose trunk actuator connector, disconnect and use your multimeter leads to see if there is voltage present when your friend pops the trunk. Repeat as necessary to determine if there is voltage present. If voltage is present at the pin connector piece then the actuator is bad. If no voltage is present search for the fuse or a pinch in your cable harness. Oh and good luck troubleshooting can suck at times.

when you said the back plastic pieces are you saying those push pins that holds up the carpet where you access the license plate lights??

Trunk not opening

Yes those plastic pieces that are preventing you from putting your fingers around that connector. Fuse diagram should be in your owners manual unless for some reason the fuse diagram has also been taken out of owners manuals.

If it were me I would just glance through with a flash light on the top usually if ones popped it will show. If not, then get down and dirty I try not to work so hard anymore with troubleshooting. Let me know if you can't find that chart I can Alldata a copy I believe.

Trunk not opening

Let me know if that worked for you. The Trunk actuator is part of that circuit name I sent you. If not I will go to Mine and take pictures for you. Alldata said owners manual has the Fuse information located in by the index? Dunno? I don't have my manuals by me or with me. I'm trying to fabricate the rest of my exhaust system so I'm in the Shop right now.

I checked my 09 manual and the only fuse information is about the type of fuses used in both the fuse boxes. There is no fuse layout diagram.

Ok maybe not... I was also looking at the 2013 nissan maxima all data too. Trunk fuse is a blue 15a fuse on mine.

If you had a dealer repair it and it doesn't work take it back and it will be on them.

is not the Actuator, my trunk actuator was bad and i could open the trunk with the latch that is on the inside.
My guess is that your Latch cable is stuck or its broken.
You need to replace the whole latch not the actuator.[

UPDATE!!!: in case anyone else has an issue like this. After it not working i took it back to the dealer and they said it was the BCM, (body control module) they warrantied the part and fixed it. Tested it about 20x at the dealer and it worked. next day guess what didnt work again!! This time i was so upset i asked to speak the manager of the dealership, i explained the situation and told him how it was an intermittent problem and to please listen to me and check for a short or broken wire. He promised they would, and GUESS WHAT?!?! a broken wire in the harness from a zip tie being too tight. For a week so far the trunk is fine. They replaced about 2k in parts when it was a 2 dollar fix!!!

Just posted a thread about this issue thinking, “what are the chances of me having the same broken wire issue”. I decided to pull the boot before making a 30-minute commute to the closest junkyard to see if they MIGHT have used latch and there it was, a broken ground wire.
