I'm looking for a grille similar to this that completely replaces the oem grill but I want one with a cut out for the nissan logo to break the monotonous horizontal lines.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-2014-Nissan-MAXIMA-1PC-UPPER-REPLACEMENT-CHROME-BILLET-GRILLE-KIT-12-13-/181374542097?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2012%7CModel%3AMaxima&hash=item2a3ac3e111&vxp=mtr
any suggestions ?

couldnt you just use that one, then use JB Weld or something to adhere the emblem to the grille?

I'm looking around ebay right now for a black billet grill and I'm noticing that the grill goes from 09-13 but most say they won't fit the 2014. Are the dimensions that different? Has anybody purchased a grill stated as such and had problems? .I've attached some links of what I'm looking at.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/09-13-Nissan-Maxima-Replacement-Upper-1PC-Billet-Black-Grille-Grill-Insert-/321212645050?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ac9c3feba&vxp=mtr
The first one was the cheaper and older version. This one below is suppose to be just for the 2014?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2009-2014-Nissan-MAXIMA-1PC-UPPER-REPLACEMENT-BLACK-BILLET-GRILLE-KIT-09-10-11-/181365796862?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2014%7CModel%3AMaxima&hash=item2a3a3e6ffe&vxp=mtr
And just to answer the question to this post. Once again below is a link of the billet grill with the Nissan logo attached.

The difference is the last one is an overlay.
That generally means it is just a wire mesh that is ziptied over the factory grill.

Grille
Yes, it's an over lay.I have a '13. Actually i bought the black set and working it as we speak. I probably wouldn't have bought it if i knew what i know now. You can see the factory grille behind it and looks gay as ****. Lucky i have my grille out, because my front clip off, out to paint. So i took grille apart, chrome trim and emblem all off. So a black frame is left, im cutting out the stock black grille parts. Sand and repaint. Attach grille some way, put on chrome emblem and trim ring. A lot of work. If i were u, i would paint the OEM grille u have. If u can pop out chrome trim once grille is off and paint black. That's what i wish i did. Also the over lay dose not lay that flat in the frame either.

there's also this one that seems to be more inset rather than totally flush to the bumper.

I like this inset look better but I'm not sure if that's actually the real grille or a photoshop.

The picture is a photo shop.

They all look like the T-Rex billet grills available through Stillen.

Mad Photoshopped. The grille will fit but it won't look so flush on the edges like it does in that pic. I believe someone has that grille insert on here as their signature.

So would the 09-13' t-rex billet grill fit my 2014? Considering it's cheaper I'd like to save a buck or two if possible. Anybody know?

I don't see why it wouldn't fit.

Nope, the 2014 is toooooooooo different of a car. LOL all jokes aside, the 2014 is still a part of the 7th generation (hence the forum) so everything is interchangeable..

I'm looking at this grill from ebay. Anyone have this grill or a grill like it on their max? How was the installation? Any cutting or drilling required? Thanks.

No I haven't gotten it yet. Still on the fence. I called and they said it should fit fine. No drilling/cutting necessary. For the price I may just grab it and see what I can come up with.

My first post after joining this or any forum ever so forgive me if I don't say something right. I have owned 3 Maximas 04, 08 and my 10.
I just purchases these grills. I will body color paint and remount logo. It's not as efficient as a foreman girl but I think it will have a better drag coefficient ;-) Let me know how yours turns out?

So I made the mistake of buying grilles for all four front openings on vehicle. They are chrome. I am having them abrasive blasted and powder coated to match car color. Except for the fact that it is hard to match powder to paint!!! Anyway, when I have this done I will put up some pics. Not looking to hoopify my car just some distinction and uniqueness.

Hoopify lmao...

I've got the billet grill in black on my pearl white. Just the main top piece. The brace and white bumper was way too noticeable, so I ran a trim of plasti dip on it all to blend and I'm very happy with it.

Boom. What a pain in the $&@ but after 40 steps the front end is complete. Want feed back on whether the burger goes back on or not?
Also changed out fogs with plug and play HID's.

That looks reallllly good man. I like it a lot. I've got just the main section, and have been considering powdercoating it. You thinking it'll hold up well against chips? The mesh part is my biggest concern.

I think it will hold up very well. The powdercoat was gray as well and will be a better primer than anything else and I had a shop do several coats of spray with clear over it. I am interested in spraying the radiator but I'll still have that brace to contend with. The plastic crap behind the brake ducts and lower are maddening but thats me being type A.

I took a cutout of black window screen and tied it to the back of my grill to hide everything behind the grill. It looks great, and solved the issue with the appearance. Was a pain in the butt getting the screen attached without anything visible, but it worked out great and has for over a year now.

This doesn't cause the engine to run any hotter or work the cooling system any harder?

How is the black billet holding up? Is the finish durable, or does it get chipped up easily from rocks? I planned on getting the same T Rex grille myself

No difference in temps. I've checked em with my obd reader and dashcommand app. It's just window screen--let's plenty of air through.

The lower is held with J bolts on top and bottom. The brake duct covers are washers on the back with nuts to secure through the existing mesh on the car.
