My 2002 had its share of engine problems at 290,xxx miles and to see less per tank on a 2011 with 20,xxx miles..
If it's taking only 16-16.5 gallons to fill up your 2011...then you still have 3.5-4 gallons left in reserve. I have put over 18 gallons in my 2012 to refill...after the "fuel level low" light had just come on 25-30 miles earlier. It usually comes on with only 2-4 gallons left for me...or just over the 1/8th tank mark on gauge. Those "fuel level low" and "miles to empty" messages come on pretty early on these 7th gen cars.

I normally get 330-400 miles per tank in normal driving...or nearly 500 miles on road trips. In fact...I just covered 4000 miles last month in 10 days and a few times I had the "miles to empty" reading 520-580 miles. Overall trip average was 26 mpg...some tanks over 28 mpg.

How interesting, in http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Maxima/2011%20Maxima/ MA.pdf MA-19, the fuel tank is 20 gal. This suggests I might have to look at the fuel pump assembly.

Also something I hate on my 7th gen: Why on earth does the ICY warning ONLY show when the outside temperature is displayed under the speedo??? My 2002 would switch to that when it was below a certain temp. Even while driving. Not the 2011 oh no, because you know going backwards is what ALL consumers want!!!!

Duuude clearly.

Only YOU... can prevent forest fires.

Not ashtrays.

Suggest you go get a discount and double check yourself.

Still this is all in good fun .

I actually hate smokers. HATE!

I love the max, but what does **** me off is the lack of a central rear jack point. such a simple thing makes getting the back of the car off the ground way easier. My 3rd gen Lexus GS gets jacked up at the rear diff and at the front cross member and she is waiting for me on all fours in 5 mins.

One year check in...
So i've owned my 11' Maxima going on about a year now so I think NOW is a fair time to give an opinion on how I feel about the car..

Cons:
Okay!.....
-I replaced the tires with Mich Premier A/S for a quieter ride and maybe reduce some road noise entering the cabin.. NOPE!... My wife and I still have to talk louder than we want while on the highway..Car is smoother I can admit...

-Random rattles while driving, SUPER annoying!!!!!!!!

-For whatever reason my programmable seat for BOTH our settings will always make the steering wheel lower than what we programed it for. We set it to where we want it, press our corresponding buttons "2" for me, and then I press the "Unlock" on my key fob so it knows its ME.. Well, everything else works well... Side view mirrors goes where it needs to, the seats goes where I programmed it but after a short time, the steering wheel will always go way lower than programmed, this happens to both my settings and my wife's settings.. ANNOYING!!! <~~ Yes,I say this a lot because it's my feels when it happens.

-Bluetooth streaming can be buggy at times.

Pros:
For my color combo (Tuscan red with Tan leather) it's a great looking car..More so with my 35% tint all around.

Pano Sunroof (My 3 year loves it, always want to see the moon), and because I love detailing cars, it's one HUGE less of a surface area for me to buff the swirls out of.

Sorry guys, but to be honest that is about all I got for Pros.. Lol, If I can toss in more later I will.

The things I don't like about the car....hmm.....the biggest part is the CVT which I won't go any further in that discussion lol won't beat a dead horse anymore haha. I love the car overall, the looks, the power it actually DOES have stock(could use a little more). But I don't like the lack of space in the back seats, I wish they would have made it with a little more space. I wish the Pano roof was better designed. I only had my car for 3 months and already had an issue with a broken clip on the roof which was discovered when I went to wash the car. Also knew a few 7gen owners here in SA who had the same issue. Other than that I still love the car=).

Used to be the CVT. Now it's the rocking drivers seat.

A 4DSC has to have a hand break, not a foot emergency break.

The limitations of the cvt. Restricted power increase due to trans. I like how it's smooth, but don't like that it can't handle a whole lot of heavy driving.

I guess I am confused why people are complaining about he CTV? I didn't notice a difference coming from a 2000 Maxima, and a 96 Camry, I guess because I am not flooring my car like an 18 year old with a 5 min old license so I guess it is not a big deal to me.

Lets be fair guys, NO maxima is a sports car even thou they try to push that claim of 4DSC. If you purchased this car expecting some kind've sport car aspects you deserve what you get and got. I knew before I purchased this car how loud the road noise was in the cabin but my wife loved the body style and the color combo and she drives the car 90% of the time anyway so WTF I care.. But when we do take road trips OMFG I am ready to to choke someone.
I've learned my lesson thinking this car had anything luxury about it, the look and the leather maybe and the options but that is about it.. The ride comfort is subpar, my 96' Camry with blowing shocks in the rear had a MUCH better ride comfort compared to my 11' Maxima.
I am currently looking into an 12' E550 or a Lexus LS in the very near future and will sell my 07' maxima.

Did you know there is a special "Sound Generator" added to increase cabin noise? It is a simple removal and really quiets the cabin. There is a nice write-up in a this forum if you search.

You might be reading a different post. Try:
https://maxima.org/forums/7th-generation-maxima-2009-2015/619015-plastic-tube-left-over-oem-intake-2.html

You only need a 8mm wrench and/or a flat head screwdriver.

The trip to Lowes for the $3 cap is the hardest step.

Are you sure? I forgot what I used but I recall buying a pvc cap with a clamp on it to cap off and tighten (with a flat head screwdriver) where the sound generator was. Took like 15 minutes or less if I recall correctly. There's a thread in here dedicated to it. I have faith in you!

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or what. The generator is located underneath the MAF in the engine compartment.

It's true. You will be glad you did this! I found the thread for you that I used along with the step-by-step directions:

Had this done on my 2010 and keep forgetting to do it on my 2014. Such a huge difference, might've even gained a few ponies but nothing crazy

I get more depressed about the poor quality of the Nissan paint and clearcoat on our cars every time I wash & wax the car. If you have a black Maxima or any of the dark colors-- you know what I'm talking about.

I wish the Bluetooth connected to the audio on the smart phone, but it only seems to connect to the call feature.

I have a 2011 SV. Whenever i connect to bluetooth, i try to put the Source to AUX but it doesn't detect my music and plays it through the phone instead. I had the same problem in my 08 350z.

I am trying to connect the same way i did in my GTI and it played just fine with that car. Unless i am just doing this incorrectly..

Water in the LED turn signal mirrors, and the car is only 1 year old. Plus, the handling that is not up to par for a 4 door sports car. Maybe my Still RSB will help that out before I add the Eibachs

Ya my 5th gens handled better. We need a source for quality shocks/struts badly. The RSB helps but is very minor improvement from Stillen. If you add Eibachs the factory shocks have a hard time with controlling travel especially on rebound.

You need the tech package in order to stream audio via bluetooth. I'm guessing your max is not equipped with this.
